Is Rocky Top out dated?

Are you trying to say that something that started 42 years ago isn't a tradition?

No.. Disagreeing that it's deep tradition..

That being said, I may have a biased opinion though.. Even though I've been a VOL fan since I was a child, I've never liked that song, especially the "Woooooo" that was added to it...

JMO... Flame away.. Believe me, I've heard it before...

Let's see... Over 15K views, 24 pages in this thread, and only 8 likes for the OP. I think that answers that.

Rocky Top is only the second song played after every single score and during pregame.

The first song is the one that's special to me. That one is the traditional 'fight song' to me. I guess it's from going to games when I was a kid and it just stuck.. I am in no way saying do away with Rocky Top if it's what the majority of fans want..

I guess I'm getting old...

Does anyone think that maybe playing a 50 year old hillbilly, bluegrass song is past it's prime? With the advent of other music to pump up the crowd and the team, playing Rocky Top over and over and over and over and over is insane in college sports today. What about the playing the theme from the Beverly Hillbillies instead? It may run a little long, but it does have a catchy melody and also has a banjo.
hillbilly huuu... Gtfo if you don't like Rocky Top kiss our hillbilly ass!

Yet you keep on talking about it. Be smart, stfu and embrace the wooooo!

What you really should be complaining about is the rap song du jour.

No!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a traditionalist. I don't like the "woo", and I still wish it was band only. I definitely don't like rap, but I thought the 3rd down for what was a perfect fit for the inevitable addition of rap music. I just hope they don't get too carried away with pop and rap, though.

I would be in favor of some Florida Georgia Line. Would you?

I'm starting to rethink a lot of songs. "Star Spangled Banner"........written in 1814? Talk about outdated. I mean really! It's two hundred years old!

Quick, someone call Lil Jon and get him to work on something more up with the times. I've got the title already..........America for what?

How about a nice kick in the nuts. How would you feel about that one?

Yes it is. We need a more up to date version of it with at least one rap stanza and one stanza involving a past Disney star.
