Is Rocky Top out dated?

Even on those nights that i felt like blowing the board up, I never posted as insane of an idea as this.

You need to be placed into a small room and forced to listen to Rocky Top until your learn to love it.

Might as well take out all the Orange too and give us some new modern day color.

Idiotic idea.

The players sure did enjoy singing with the crowd after the USC comeback. I enjoyed it a lot too. Peyton sung it a few times in his career as I recall. I never once thought wow, that's an outdated song that gets annoying.

Yes.......and? Everyone is aware that the band is not playing the true version of Rocky Top. Their a marching band, not a bluegrass group.

I guess stupid doesn't have an on/off switch.

lol! The OP got blew up to the extent that he decided to go ahead and go for broke by editing his original post. Its even more inflammatory!! Been a member for awhile and I can't remember a thread that has been started before where 99% of the respondents were ripping the OP a new one like this one.

Congratulations OP! You had to have set a record, or at the very least got into the top five worst threads started list.

I would hazard his answer would be, "yes." He has gotten exactly what he wanted: lots and lots of attention. Be kind to him, it's probably the only way he can get any notice.

Being new, I respectfully ask IS THIS FOR F&$@!?G REAL? Should we change Rocky Top?

If this guy is serious that is the most blasphemous thing I have ever heard from a Vol fan!

The only thing greater than my love for that song is the way it makes our opponents cringe with hatred!

Personally, I'd like to see UT drop rocky top. The Bryant family, which at this point doesn't include the song's authors, has made enough money off the royalties. I'm very much against the while idea of near perpetual copyrights being controlled by distant relatives many generations after an original work's creator has died. If they're not willing to put it in the public domain then the school should stop promoting it. I am aware that the Bryants give some money back to UT but enough is enough in my opinion.
