Iran

This current round of fighting was started by the US and Israel. The general conflict regarding us was started by us when we helped overthrow their government in the 50's to help BP. I assume since you believe this should have been done long ago you've been supporting canidates for office who also held that belief. So you were a big McCain guy. Probably didn't like Trump. Especially since he was warning that "the other side" was going to get us into war with Iran. People who are against this aren't lefties necessarily. Some are fiscal conservatives, some voted for Trump and believed him when he said no new wars, some are just tired of being at war for the majority of their lives etc etc. You sound very foolish

This was all coming to a head. Reasonable minded people say do what you can to avoid it. Stay out of conflict. They play games with our negotiators and have been for a long time. Most did not know how to deal with them and they knew it. Iran has growing more as a serious threat to allies as they get closer to a nuclear weapon. Common sense shows this as they are striking their neighbors who are not involved. Imagine if they had a nuclear weapon. Let's see how this turns out. I don't see Trump as a long drawn out conflict guy and I still say he is strategizing how to wrap this up in minimal time. We will find out in time.

Fiscal conservatives took Hitler's side too. Nobody wants war. Sometimes it is necessary just like whipping your child when they are defiant and going the wrong way, it isn't pleasant but if put off and the consequences are much worse. This is about correcting an evil and will revolutionize the geopolitical landscape for generations.
The US made it worse and then paved the way for the Ayatollah through back channels. It’s not their job to create the revolution. They should mind their business for once

When do you think the Iranian Revolution will begin? As of right now, there are no immediate signs of that happening after the death of the Ayatollah.
I think any uprising will happen after the military action against the IRG police (Basij) is done. The military assets have been for the most part eliminated but the police that crack down on protesters haven't been.

It will take a chunk of their regular Army deciding to kick that off before the people rise up. I don't see the civilians doing it again without backup.

Aw. Sensitive spot for the low character folks in society?

It was actually pithy commentary on the "cost" of the stupidity. The way I understand it, the cost of munitions is part of the total cost. The money was already spent on those things. Doesn't change the reality of the new costs incurred but there's more going on than running up a few billion more on Uncle Sam's credit card.

LOL

I like how you used the same argument a lot of them used in the Ukraine thread to justify us sending them weapons and munitions.

Is anyone here ok with the first week of the war costing $11.3 billion in a week? I genuinely want to hear your rationale on this. Can anyone think of something here in the States that could use $11.3 Billion this week? I know I can.
It's not nearly enough but it would go a ways to alleviating the hardships that those Somali daycares are suffer due to funding cuts.
