I started a thread that appears to be getting no coverage, LOL. I thought I would post here as well...
Now that we know who the coach is, just maybe...

Now that we have hired a coach, just maybe some of these new posters will leave Vol Nation. It seems they have all joined recently to express their opinions about Kiffin and our coaching search. I do not doubt their loyalty to the school/team, however, I could do without all of the negativity. We already had our fair share of negative people!

I know we all think we no more and disagree when things don't go our way but this site is getting to be a little crazy.

It is a free country and I am sure I will get blasted but is time to move on and support the hire of OUR Unniversity.

No, Dooley was not my first, second or third choice but I will not talk bad of a man I know nothing about. He looks good on paper and several people on this board have testified to his character and abilities. I will overlook the La Tech record. Afterall, it is La Tech!

I know several GA grads as well as LSU and they all seem very high on this hire.

Give the guy a chance! We cannot move backwards and our situation did not yield itself to hiring a home run. This is what we have. He is young, smart, helluva a recruiter and now our coach.

Please support him so that we can move on! And for all of the knuckleheads that have slowed down this board just to vent and be jerks, please go back to GVX or wherever you cam from!

Exactly how I feel. Cut would have been solid but you know it would have taken forever to fire him if he wasn't getting the job done....
Dooley on the other hand has to make it happen or he will be canned in 2-3 years. This isn't the hire we dreamed about but it maybe the hire we are all proud of in couple years.....hopefully!

I think this hire SUCKs and I also think Phil Fulmer has done as much as anyone to distroy this program and furthermore your AD is the reason we are going thru this mess for hiring previous inexperienced child before this one.

I always support the product my alma mater puts on the field. I wasn't crazy about the Kiffin hire, but I supported him. Even if Dooley leads us to some losing seasons, I feel he will honor the tradition and dignity of UT football.

The more I read about him, the more regular my heartbeat becomes.

I think he just may work out....I do know this, I feel less dirty today than I did with The Three Stooges aboard.

Word to the recruits... this is still Tennessee, make no mistake as we will have a great team and the fans to back it. Stick to your commitment and attend the school you chose and be glad you don't have to perform for a coach that didn't perform for you, left everyone to fend for themselves, thinking only of himself, at the worst possible time, with no ethics to the art of coaching all the while he and his coaching staff were trying to take you with them. Who do you serve? A guy that would dump you or someone that wants to believe in you, your skill and the Tennessee program? This guy is a jerk and anyone that believes that a west coast team is better than Tennessee doesn't deserve you!

UT fans, stop saying his name, discussing him as a topic or his coaching staff... we've got to get back to Tennessee Athletics and our program. He's a young media hog that is living off of your attention and promoting his name to a head coach position because of it. Let him fade in your mind and start a campaign to support YOUR TEAM!! We'll beat them in the future!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have no choice in the matter, so of course I support our coach. Just face it, we had no other options. The timing of this all killed our chances of getting a big name coach. I would rather have a young up and coming no-name coach than an old re-tread like Cutcliffe.

I think that he is the kind of coach that alot of our rivals' coaches probably hoped the Vols would not hire. Smart. Relentless recruiter. Steeped in the history of the SEC without being an old fogey.

Schablah just reported that he spoke to a few guys on Sabans staff who worked with Dooley and said this hire scares them more than any other they heard about us. This guy is going to be good.

Funny how most in the know in the media are calling this a great hire and a few beer guzzling dbags who post on a message board don't like it. Nice.

I like the hire. This guys knows the SEC and worked under one of the best. He has a lot to prove but I'm sure he knows this.

Interesting that Saban thought enough of him to bring him to Miami with him.

Also, did anyone else make the connection --
Will Muschamp, Derek Dooley and Lance Thompson were all on Sabans staff at LSU???

I'm not 100% that I agree with the hire YET.....But if the man is going to be wearing Orange and White then I'm all in and will support him....Dooley you better get to owning your daddy's team LoL Good luck to Dooley and lets get it on!!

I for one support this decision. I don't understand why everybody says this is a bad hire. Was Lane Kiffin a good hire going off his record? Hell no.

Did you know he is the son of of legendary University of Georgia head football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley?

Did you know he was the recruiting coordinator for Nick Saban at LSU, which landed 2 number 1 classes in his time.

Everybody around here seems to hate Saban, but will admit he is an awesome coach! Well if Nick Saban likes this guy enough to have him on his staff (LSU to Miami) for 6 years then he's good enough for me.

I just wanted to start this thread so when he proves all of you nay sayers wrong we can look back at who supported this hire!

I support him 100%. I hope he brings good times to UT football. I'm impressed with his recruiting background. Worked with Saban and Coach Thompson before.
