People blindly saying things without knowledge run the world. According to some, most every team is unsuccessful because their season ends in a loss for a big majority of teams. This is an interesting point I have seen nobody mention, especially considering the number of people who want to say Barnes was only successful because of Grant...
Do y’all realize Porter Moser was fired from Illinois State for his performance there being unsatisfactory?
Pre-Krutwig and Moser has been a coach for 13 seasons, never finished above 5th in conference standings and never playing in the NCAAT or even NIT tournament.

While this is true, there’s more to it than that for Porter. Loyola didn’t have a lot of talent when he took over and they made a big jump in conferences after his 3rd season which really set the program development back for a couple more years (compared to their competition). Obviously Krutwig helped elevate the program, but they were poised to be good that year with or without him. I’d expect sustained success for the next several years based on their freshman and sophomore classes. This is an interesting point I have seen nobody mention, especially considering the number of people who want to say Barnes was only successful because of Grant...

No doubt they’ll take somewhat of a step back after this group leaves (although I wouldn’t be surprised if most came back next year). I do think they’ll be back in the dance in two years though given what I’ve seen from their young guys. Full disclosure, I’m a bit biased being an alumni so take it with a grain of salt. That could be, I'm not familiar with their recruiting, but I do see 5 seniors among their top 7 rotational players this year and that suggests a step back in the next couple of years depending on how many go or stay. It's really hard to find a player at any level who executes the system as well as Krutwig does, he won't be easy to replace. Maybe this recent success will be the spark that resets Moser's career or maybe he'll be the Mercer coach who had some good years with a particular group of players and dropped back to mediocrity when they were gone. As I said, it will be interesting to see what happens, but I'm not making any predictions.
Ah, gotcha, this has been a lot of fun for you no doubt. Of course, being a vol fan, I'm still disappointed over 2018 so there's a little bias in my view as well.No doubt they’ll take somewhat of a step back after this group leaves (although I wouldn’t be surprised if most came back next year).
