If Tennessee Leaves Nike Question

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here. Didn't Nike put the kabosh on the term Lady Vols? Seems like our AD at the time (don't remember which one) caved and let the Lady Vols disappear for a while. Was it Nike pushing that or the AD? I never liked the vibe that they wanted complete control. If Adidas refrains from that, I'm good.

No, it had nothing to do with Nike or any apparel brand. That was part of Dave Hart's brainchild when he consolidated the men and women's athletic departments as a cost-cutting measure when we were struggling financially from all the coaching buyouts.

Dave Hart pushed that and used the Nike transition as an excuse to finish it.

Absolutely. Heaven forbid someone express these freedoms that everyone loves to brag about.
Person A is free to disagree with Person B in how Person B expresses his freedoms. It doesn’t make Person B any less free or Person A a hypocrite. You don’t have to agree with any and every Constitutionally-protected speech or action at all times to claim you love freedom.
