Theres so many colleges and coaches with all kinds of success that never get recognized.
Not a lot of people are doing what Chadwell has been able to do.
Coastal Carolina was not even close to the most talented team even in the Sun-Belt conference.
Heś beating superior teams by scheme and heart!
Imagine if you give him 4 and 5 star players...
Bill Snyder was a guy with Kansas State that was so good. He always fielded good tough well coached teams. And when he did get some real talent, they always had great teams.
His offense doesn't play in the SEC. If you can't match up somewhat physically, you will get ground into dust.
He is overrated and his offense is smoke and mirrors wouldn’t translate to the weekly grind of the SEC.
Look guys its FINE to have an opinion.
But HAVE an opinion haha. just do little research.
Heś coached at two other places since Charleston Southern. And he won NCAA Coach of the Year this season.
Not busting you up or anything, but heś had success before coastal.
He was 3 points away from having Coastal Carolina finishing as a Top 10 team with a roster NOT even in the top 100 FBS...imagine what he could do with a Top 25 talent roster- which Tennessee still has.
Before Coastal he was Southern Conference COY 3 times...
He had one of the most balanced offenses in college football.
Hes not some flash in the pan, heś been a head coach for over 100 games and has a winning record while most all of them were REBUILDS!
Jimbo Fisher was an OC.Oh so we cant hire a 3 time conference coach of the year??
AN AP COACH OF THE YEAR. as in the ENTIRE FBS.
Urban Meyer was Bowling Green at one time.
Brian Kelly at Central Michigan.
What are those bums doing now right??
Same thing was said about every different offense to come to the SEC. I know, from personal experience, fans and talking heads didn't believe Spurrier's or Meyer's offense would work.
BYU says GTFO!
Well part of "getting it right" is taking what you have, and improving on it.I was referring to success in Division one, not FCS or Division 2. We see Coach's like this every year have one great year at a small school and suddenly he's the next Great big school coach. Charlie Strong, Jim McElwain, Kevin Sumlin, Willie Taggart, Scott Frost, Dino Babers, Mike MacIntyre, Mike London, Matt Wells, Larry Fedora, Chad Morris, Steve Kragthorpe, Sonny Dykes., Al Golden that's just a few..Not saying he isn't or won't be any HC can have one great season with a sr dominated team. We can't get this wrong again.
I can tell you who BYU did beat...haha. So can Alontae Taylor and Nigel Warrior.Do you think BYU would have beat Bama, Florida, or Georgia?
We were outcoached.
Not saying coaching can't overcome some talent differences, but at some point to be able to match up with your opponent to consistently win here in this conference.
The only coach I can think of that might be able to consistently compete with other teams with more talent was Chris Peterson when he was with Boise State.
He beat Georgia and Oklahoma. He was a master at schemes and trick plays, and his players played lights out for him.
Even when he beat those teams, the narrative around here was "well, Boise wouldn't be undefeated if they played an SEC schedule ".
If the narrative was coaching and schemes wouldn't hold up to an "SEC" schedule for Chris Peterson, then why will they suddenly work for Chadwell?
They won't.
He will need SEC players to compete for SEC championships.
Chadwell may be good, but he's no Chris Peterson.
I can tell you who BYU did beat...haha. So can Alontae Taylor and Nigel Warrior.
I agree that if we had a qb that didn't destroy our hopes an dreams in the red zone then the Pruitt tenure could have looked vastly different
