I was in line at GameStop for the PS5 with DJ Henderson. Here’s what i learned.

he said pruitt is smart, and the coaches are good. the older players, for whatever reason, just don’t listen to him when it comes game time. he said guarantano is a genius, and he has everything it takes... in practice. he just loses everything when the lights come on. he doesn’t know why.
he said jennings was crazy, but he knew how to pull the team together. the team doesn’t have that anymore. but overall, he said he thinks pruitt can get it done when the bad apples are gone.

he’s working at amazon in spartanburg, SC where he grew up, also where i grew up. he’s a cool guy. y’all don’t have to believe me, but everything i said here is true.
Practice... we talking about practice.

Nope. Arkansas ran a balanced offense and played better with lesser players. Stats don't lie.

Here's the stats that don't lie. Here's your ball game. 3 plays for 67 yards. 2 plays for 81 yards. Big explosive plays, just like I said. You take those five plays away and UT wins the game. Franks executed when asked to and JG never did. 100% this is the difference in the game. These explosive plays gutted our team.

Even with Dabo, he won a division title his first full year. In his second full year (the 6-7) season, they still went to a bowl. In his third full year, they won the ACC championship and the rest is history. Even in his first couple of seasons, they had wins over FSU and USCe, which mean a lot for that program.

But they wanted to get rid of him and he was on the hot seat. Pruitt actually isn’t on the hot seat yet but has done worse than Dabo but was a worse situation

I'm saving this post for when Pruitt wins the SEC and a national championship and you're going to eat those words!

Hey that’s cool.......but please by ALL means respond to my fact based content.

The only opinion is that Pruitt is not a good coach........12 blowout losses in 31 games helps to prove my point.

Losses to Ga St, BYU (when you had that game all but won), Vandy, Arkansas all help to prove my point.

When coaches coach scared and they refuse to open their playbook because the QB they refuse to change can’t handle “more” playbook........helps to prove my point.

When you make a bone headed decision not to kick a “needed” field goal.....then claim it was two far.....after the kicker had already made 2 from farther.............helps to prove my point.

I don’t care what Pruitt does 10 years from now.......or whenever the case may be.........right now Pruitt is NOT a good coach.
If you think otherwise........please show how so?

jg is genius

I wonder how Sam Pittman got his players to listen to him?

I've heard so much over the years about how coach X needs to purge the roster of coach Y's players, just wait until he gets "his guys" blah , blah, blah. Meanwhile good coaches just come in and win with what they have.
When there's a coaching change, that new coach needs to play "his" players, whether their 5th year guys or freshmen. Butch brought in 4-5 star players but it didn't seem to matter to him if they played well with others. There's a huge difference between great athletes and great teammates. We've not had a team leader since JJ stepped up and led last year and it shows on the field. We've got a bunch of individuals and no team.

We had this situation once, with a QB who'd have been All-State and All-American if practice was all that counted. Get him out there on a Friday night, and it was like putting a freshman making his first start against a top-tier opponent.

It got to a point where we had to bench him. Every other guy was pulling their weight, and our offense was being undone by a single player. It hurt like hell to have to do it, but it hurt like hell to see a bunch of winnable games turn into losses because someone couldn't get the job done. So it was either sting one guy's feelings, or every other player on the roster.

It was a joke. I thought it was funny people trying to really stretch and reach comparing Pruitt to Dabo lol. Honestly he needs to be shown the door imo. Hate to say it because up until this year I thought he was the guy but it's clear now he ain't.

Completely disagree that we would have won without those big plays. That is only 14 points. We scored 13. My math shows we would still lose by 1point. We lost because Big Jim did nothing to put our guys in a good situation.

Arkansas rushing: 198 Yards (big plays included) vs Tennessee rushing: 185 Yards
Arkansas passing: 215 Yards (big plays included) vs Tennessee passing: 107 Yards

Additional proof that Jim Chaney is overrated (and yes, JG sucks). Here are the rankings for his offenses over the last 12 years. He can't blame all of these poor showings on JG.

Offensive Ranking
2009 (UT) 43
2010 (UT) 58
2011 (UT) 107
2012 (UT) 22
2013 (Ark) 105
2014 (Ark) 44
2015 (Pitt) 68
2016 (UGA) 102
2017 (UGA) 20
2018 (UT) 110
2019 (UT) 97
2020 (UT) 104
Average around 73

I coached with a guy in little league (10u) that had promised a boy early in the season that he could score a TD. We lost 2 regular season games and our playoff game because we'd get close to the goal line and he'd start calling plays for that boy. It was commendable that the coach tried to keep his promise but the kid would either fumble the ball, drop the pass, or get ran down from behind. We won a game 35-7 and he was crying afterwards. I asked him why and he said it was because he didn't score a TD. The rest of the boys got to a point that they'd roll their eyes or sigh when the plays were called for that one boy. It would hurt the team mentally because they saw him fail so many times and they finally gave up on him. I felt sorry for the boy but the coach put him in that position.

*I think this is the way some of the team looks at JG. A guy more likely to get them beat instead of help them win. Pruitt should have sat him down early in the 2nd half of the Georgia game and the team chemistry might have been saved this year. At least the heat would've been off JG.... bless his heart.

I’m actually sorry I didn’t catch it.....I try to do those many times as well.

It’s way funnier if people simply get it........then when you have to tell them......it defeats the whole joke......sry about that.

I’ll try to keep myself open a bit more......cause I love......really love those kinds of jokes.......just feel lame I didn’t get it this time.

I'm not a fan of Chaney's either. I'd like us to get a playcaller who has coached under Mullen, his style has been successful going on 15 years now.

Yeah maybe it would have been better with blue font. It's all screwed up now and will never funny lol

No

Don’t use the blue font.....it makes things not as funny.

When we catch the sarcasm.......it’s really funny.

I just missed it.

You could certainly say that; however I didn’t tell anyone “what” to believe or to think.

I was saying to judge by what “you” see and what “you” know......not by “opinion.”

I then made simple logical statements based on what the OP had stated.....that “if your losing anyway” why not “try” something different.

I’m confident you are confused as to what an “arm chair coach” is.........that would be me telling or proclaiming what the coach “should” do.

Instead “I” said to judge by what you see. And I said simply “try something else.”

But hey.....,keep trying.

I read your post again and I still see "armchair coach", full of advice as to what you think Pruitt should do.

Not sure why anyone on earth would want to bring up Dabo Or Saban.......when trying to make comparisons to Pruitt.

It’s seriously dumb!

Dabo went to a bowl game year 1, year 2 and year 3. He went to the championship game in year 2 (first full year) had won 10 games by year 4 (3rd full)......not to mention he had one blow out loss over his first 35 games........Pruitt has had 12 over his first 31 games.

Saban has NEVER had a losing season......anywhere.

Saban had 4 blow out losses over his first 48 games.......again Pruitt 12 in 31 games!

Some of you simply can’t grasp that Pruitt isn’t a good head coach.

Thank God we have you to redirect our muddled, dumb thinking.

Lol
again you just don’t understand what that even is I think.

I didn’t tell anyone what they should do......I simply stated “if your losing anyway.......maybe try something different.”

Your welcome

And no need to really thank me.....I’m sure most with a competent mind understand trying to make positive comparisons of Pruitt and Dabo’s coaching is asinine.

Logic will lead you to the truth in situations like this.

If you're a senior or redshirt senior who sticks around this long to play for a brand new coach it's most likely because you have no prospects. You aren't very good. Otherwise you'd be in the NFL by now or would have jumped ship to a team that can contend. These guys have been in practice and they know how much they suck and have known it but you have to have a brave public face.

On the other side Pruitt needs warm bodies otherwise he can't field a team. Pruitt maybe doesn't like the culture/work ethic of his upper classmen but he cant sacrifice all of them. He needs them to get through these early years just to survive.
I stopped reading at Logic.
