I don't know that there were or were not shenanigans, but I don't find it too surprising that coaches in the Midwest would care about what Bruce is doing enough to look over his shoulder.

In a career marked with foolish decisions, Dickey telling Larry Brown that "I can't hire the coach from Oral Roberts. The fans would never accept that," is my favorite.

So then I would assume you have as much disdain for any coach who tried to rat out Pearl to the NCAA as you have from some of our (UT) coaches.

I'm sure you can't do it, because you have a network of sources within the coaching ranks that you don't want to damage, but I would appreciate it if you started naming names. :thumbsup:

There's a lot of top programs in the country that cheat to get players in school and tons of ppl try to get that program caught up..no reason, if there is a problem with Bruce, this shouldnt blow off just like 95% of these similar cases do

I think Hat started this thread just to stir the pot. Making a statement that he will be gone in two years based on one game doesn't sound like something Hat would normally say..especially since it is absurd to make such a statment. I have never seen a post where someone was arguing Pearl was better than Self. Playing in Allen Fieldhouse had as much to do with it as anything. It wasn't that bad of a loss and on this one, Hat is FOS

This isn't about dislike of Pearl. I think all Vol fans like Pearl and want the best for him.

Who knows? Making statements about possible violations is ridiculous. If the NCAA were investigating UT, there would have already been a report on it. I am not sold on your assurances. In a thread that starts with a statement about how much better Self is than Pearl I am not convinced Hat is unbiased here. In fact, I know he isn't

There is no doubt that Self has a better resume and better results than Pearl. In fact, his less talented team just beat Pearl's.

You don't have to believe anything and can write it all off as someone with a score to settle, but that's foolhardy. Think about what there is to be gained from being right? Nada, zero, zilch.

This statement is BS. There may be rumors but the NCAA doesn't kill a programs recruiting by throwing accusations around unless there is good evidence.

I think I'll need some more evidence before we start kicking Pearl out for violations on two players who are not even on our roster.

And as we've seen with Coach O and Ron Zook in football, all great recruiters get accused of shenanigans at some point.

But it's not like they (Kansas) don't have talent and playing at Kansas is not easy for a UT team still trying to find an identity after losing Chris and JaJuan.

No, they didn't play well but I don't see how this loss reveals anything people didn't already know about this team.

Plus I can think of several more talented teams (Florida and Texas to name two) Pearl's UT teams (with less talent) have beaten, it happens. BC just beat UNC at home.

So why is everyone freaking out over a tough non-conference road game in the first weekend in January?

This team still has a chance to win a weak SEC and will probably be gone after the first weekend in the NCAA tourny.

Not all this is directed toward you BPV...
