i see 8 wins next year and that's it

Tennessee's 2017 football schedule:

September

4: Georgia Tech (Atlanta)

9: Indiana State

16: at Florida

23: UMass

30: Georgia

October

14: South Carolina

21: at Alabama

28: at Kentucky

November

4: Southern Miss

11: at Missouri

18: LSU

25: Vanderbilt Anybody else feel like they can't win the east next year besides me? Curious...

I'll say 8-4 to 10-2. Think it all depends on the QB and CB's. The Chandler kid will be good option w/ Kelly. WR's will be ok, and possibly better if better short range passing. We can't discount Dobbs value as a leader and runner, but if one of QB's turns out to be special, I'll go more towards 9-10 range. Think D will rebound.

7 and 5

Doesn't everyone know that January is blind optimism month??? All I'm seeing is continued pessimism (may be realistic, but who knows at this point?) Amazing what a bad unique event (vandy) has done to our fan base, though we've won 18 games in last two years.

A VN speciality

I mean, it's fun to speculate I guess, but I just think for our team, especially with a new QB, several potential staff changes, and a general uncertainty of the SEC East, it just seems nearly impossible to accurately predict our 2017 season without just a blind guess.

First its coaches developing the talent and putting them in positions to succeed. Team also needs to get strong. It all starts with CBJ

I think we lose to Bama, LSU, Florida, and UGA. I think UGA is going to be really good with Eason and lots of key guys returning for their senior year.

GT could be tough with their offense. USCjr should be a win, but Butch hasn't proven he can beat a mediocre coach in Muschamp.

7-5 or 8-4 is realistic. Anything better than that means our QB situation was really good and we coached awesome.

Agreed

I am more on the optimistic side. I feel like a lot of our younger players got title rep time this past year. A lot will depend upon the quarterback and wide receiver's since it appears we will be replacing Malone. Also, what will status be with K-Mac and Tuttle.

A lot of talent on next year's team still. I feel we should be as good as or better than this past year. Injuries will still be important. Other teams can win with a red-shirt Freshman QB, no reason why we can't either. I'm going 10-2 with loss to Alabama and LSU. We sweep the East.

:thud:We are a 8 win team just that simple Liberty Bowl here we come clean the trophy case out for the big bell trophy and we whip some oh over rated little 10 team again.

Georgia tech is the swing game.

Losses:

Georgia
Florida
Bama
LSU
1 loss between Tech, Vandy, USCe

Probably. This is a 5 to 7 loss team unless the coaching improves considerably... and I'm talking about the HC.

South Carolina may have been unique. Vandy was a trend.

The first game of the season against a quality opponent will signal the rest of the season. While teams do make progress from the 1st game until the last, it is not generally monumental - it's more incremental.

If we see the same (seemingly) unpreparedness, inconsistency, flat-first-half performance, etc. then we know that team 121 will be the same as team 120 and that the coaches haven't proceeded along the learning curve as well. In other words, more of the same but w/o Dobbs, AK, DB, CS, JRM, etc.... we'll be very lucky to go 8-4.

And if our freakin' DB's don't turn their heads around to defend against the pass, well.....who knows.

I've posted several times that I see 7 wins as our realistic win total next year. Gonna stick with it. Had us at 8 this year so maybe we can exceed my expectations again next season.

I just have to wait until we get at least one practice report.

I admit, you guys make stressing out over losses that haven't happened, look like a blast but seems like there could be a downside. Like misery or something.
