Heupel STILL isn't operating on a level recruiting ground with the rest of the SEC. That's just the facts.

Expecting top level recruiting classes while still under sanctions seems legit to you? Why?

I think what we NEED is a top 5 recruiting class. A couple of them.

I have lost my enthusiasm for recruiting since NIL and transfer portal became the way they are, so I haven't followed this year like I used to. That said, I checked in on our rankings earlier today, No. 31 on the Composite? 7th in the SEC overall? 6th in SEC by average recruit ranking? That ain't gonna git her done. Hopefully we are still in it for a lot of big fish we expect to get.

You've got to be kidding. Vitello took a program that was near the bottom of the SEC, won a NC and propelled them to the #1 baseball program in the country in less than 7 seasons. Vitello is probably the greatest coach the Vols have had in any sport since The General.

I love TV and I agree that he has been great but let's give it more time before declaring him the GOAT. No doubt this team won a NC but I am not ready to declare us the #1 baseball program in the country yet.
Many were critical of CJH for allegedly "regressing" in 2023. I think a strong argument could be made that the baseball team similarly regressed this year.

It’s funny. But Butch has our last 2 wins against UGA and has come closer in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa than Heupel. The 2023 Florida game was horrid.

It really was and it started out so well. That first drive was perfection.

I really think we can beat Florida, though. That is definitely feasible.

Friend that's a TALL order....I'm not denying I want to see it as you...But from that cheating dumpster fire we came from (Still working on it} Dufus Dooley, Botch Jones? Well, takes a little time, where we just came from?...In time, keep the faith. CJH is the best thing to happen to UT in decades..... He has a ceiling true! But we are hanging tough...unlike where we've been as a program. SO SO SO much better off? We are clean and stable....Bravo for the job staff and the job well done...

I agree with this post . it's the next natural step in the progression of the program to go into our biggest rivals stadium and hand them an L. it demonstrates a level of maturity and growth of the players that they can handle anything. IMO you can't be a serious title contender without handling ALL business in your conference.
