I had to do it. I like/dislike Tee because...

Is Peyton and issue with Tee Martin with YOU

tee had plenty of opportunities to come to TN and he turned us down because he wanted to be a big shot in hollywood, now he comes crawling back because his ass got fired. He made comments about our recruits pubically to try and make TN look bad. Hell his own son doesnt even use his last name. Just a real pos that shoulda never been welcome back on the hill

Unsportsmanlike conduct, 15 yds and poster is disqualified.

You dispensed with the first part of your argument, yourself.
Every recruiter is recruiting for *their* school. What less than nice things has he said, specifically, that you take as an egregious offense against TN?

There is SOME truth in what he said. I said I personally understand that it may have been a bad time or he did not want to coach for CBJ.

I understand coaches will say almost anything to get a kid to his current school. I remember some chatter about Adoree Jackson when it was down between UT and USC.

It's all water under the bridge at this moment. Im personally glad to have him. I know he can recruit his butt off and we need that more than anything right now.

Sweet Jesus. Just when you think VN's brain power couldn't get lower "Is Peyton and issue with Tee Martin with you?" LIVE LOOK AT OP

The OP was just responding to these words of wisdom.

Understood. However, the anti-Tee-ism began long before his declining to return. Some never forgave him for winning the NC that "should have been Peyton's." This goes way back

When "SOME truth" is used to weave prejudicial whole cloth that Martin is a POS and should not be welcomed to TN, the weaver is unconcerned with objectivity or truth. In fact, he is the POS blanket he wants to wrap another in.

Martin has committed no sins against UT. "Some chatter" is pretty damned flimsy evidence, isn't it? As are the imagined sins of Tee Martin.

Whether I agree or not you did a fine job answering the question.

And yours is a rational response; thank you.
While I understand some hold irrational grudges against Martin, wicked insinuations about his parentage while calling him a POS and unfit to be at TN crosses over into shiddyness, and deserve a stronger response than "you're being irrational".

I have no problem with Tee. I wasn't aware of some of the things being said about him and, just wanted your opinion. I actually wasn't for or against him coming back. Obviously I hope it works out great.

The statement that started this stupid thread was something that I had never heard and so rubbed me the wrong way that I made this huge mistake of a poll. However, I'm thinking that the "Tee won Peyton's NC" statement was made more to stir up **** than to be anywhere near to factual. The results are near 100% calling BS.

I know dude, Lol. Post 18 in this thread I explained that to someone and on page two I copied and pasted the comment from Woods that you're talking about.

This thread/poll is kinda like the warning on a Halloween Superman costume that tells you not to jump off a building wearing it. Its stupid, but there is a reason for it.

What the F are you even talking about......

I never called him a " POS " or said anything negative about him...

Your not on the TV show Law and Order here. I was defending a post that someone else made about Tee snubbing my beloved university in years past.

There was some less than favorable words said about my beloved university by Tee when he was working for USC. He was recruiting a kid by the name of Adorree Jackson. He won that recruiting battle and Jackson was a first round draft pick in the NFL.

I said in my post that I understand and I am not upset.

I hope you are a law student attempting to learn the act of argument or something because you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Calm down.

its been said that Tee was disgruntled for years because he has always been an after thought to Peyton in Knoxville.

Here’s to many successful years at Tennessee for Tee as a coach.

I admire and respect Tee Martin the National Championship winning QB. Tee Martin the coach? Not so much.

Expect folks to hedge, juke, tiptoe, around and mock this question. I doubt you get honest responses. As for myself, yes, I think it's an issue for some fans. The spectrum being among older ones, say those who are 55+. But they'll cite other reasons which are actually reinforcements of their already biased mindsets. Finally, I suggest that since Tee is now back, let's just all hope he proves to be a major cog in the return of the once mighty Vols and leave it at that.
Never mind. Not worth the argument.
