***Because I had a brain fart asking, Is Tee an issue with you because of Peyton?***

It's public and I made it easy. Would like to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Before anyone makes anymore ******* posts, please go here and follow this thread back and see why I did this.

Thanks.
tee had plenty of opportunities to come to TN and he turned us down because he wanted to be a big shot in hollywood, now he comes crawling back because his ass got fired. He made comments about our recruits pubically to try and make TN look bad. Hell his own son doesnt even use his last name. Just a real pos that shoulda never been welcome back on the hill

Not sure I understand this poll. Tee won Tee's championship. Peyton didn't have one if I remember correctly. I like both of them, especially what each one has done for the program and the sport.

I guess it would be best to say that every year is at least a little different. It's best to say that Peyton helped build the team that won the NC. Our defense couldn't beat Florida and Peyton's receivers didn't hold onto the ball at times. It was not Peyton's fault we couldn't beat Florida. We caught UF in 98 with a superior defense and they didn't have Danny Weurfel anymore. It still took a lot of breaks and OT to beat them. It was like we got payback for all of our bad luck over the decade that season. The Arkansas game, the Florida game, Bama was in a down period, and we got a 2nd string QB when we played FSU for the title instead of next year's Heisman winner. All the stars were lined up that year in our favor. I guess it's easy to say that Peyton would have easily led us to the NC since Tee was a 1st year starter and we were pretty conservative on offense that year. Yes we hit some big plays and Tee set that completion record against an awful USC east team, but it's pretty safe to say that Peyton would have put up big numbers and those close games would not have been close at all. However, we'll never know since the leaders on that team said that they always sat back and waited for Peyton to do something big, but when he was gone, they knew they all had to step up and make plays because he was no longer there!

Honest comment, don't know that I completely agree or disagree, but honest. Thank you.

Tee was correct....Jalen Hurd was soft....between the ears.

Stupid poll in my opinion. I like them both for different reasons. I don't begrudge Tee because he was able to do something at Tennessee that Peyton didn't get done. Peyton was a great player and he is a classy guy, however I wish he had a little less choke artist in him, but I digress.

I hope Tee does great things for UT!

Now.....I don’t like Tee for one simple, selfish reason. He turned down an interview with Austin Peay for HC this year. Yes, it’s petty, and I’m ok with being petty!😁

I didn't really understand the question but I don't hate Tee and really don't fell one way or the other when it comes to former players. I didn't blindly follow Peyton and become a Colts and then a Broncos fan just because he played for them. I always wanted him to d good but when ever he was playing the Titans I wanted him on his backside or picked off ever play.

When it comes to Tee my problem is not with him but with some of our fans who blindly wants coaches hired just because they played at Tennessee. Like those wanting him as HC or OC when he has done nothing in his career to be considered for a P5 conference HC and was just fired as a P5 OC. (when we still don't know if he ever called plays or not?) Like we are seeing with the Lady Vols.

The other day when it was announced that he would be joining the staff I saw several tweets on my TL that said things like "Hopefully CPF will make Tee HC and move Pruitt to DC." "Let's fire so & so and bring Jay Graham back and hire Al Wilson as LB coach" another I saw said "Inky should be hired by the Athletic Department to be the University's full time motivational leader". It's crazy some of the "Fans" out there. I guess that is why "Fan" is short for "Fanatic"

Now that he has been hired as a position coach I think its a fantastic get for CJP and the program as the one thing he has shown is the ability to successfully recruit and get 5 & 4-Star players committed & signed. There is nothing wrong with that as every Top P5 school from Bama down hires recruiting mercenaries to seal the deal with top talent that's one of the things you have to do in this day and age of big time CFB.

Idiotic post of the day. By a mile. Complete domination.
There is no second place.

There is some truth to what he is saying. He DID turn UT away in the past. I personally understand that timing means a lot, and it may have been a bad time. I also understand that he may not have wanted to coach for some of our previous coaches.

Tee has in the past said less than nice things to recruits trying to win them over to his current school.

Why does his son not using his last name need to be brought into this debate? I don’t see posts discussing all the other kids that don’t use their father’s last names. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about Tee, but bringing his kid not using his last name into the debate is not cool.

Just curious what makes it idiotic?

From the top:
Martin gets an opportunity at an elite program and a good locale for his wife's career; a perfect fit for a moment in time and has nothing to do with being "a big shot in Hollywood" unless success and hella' lifestyle have become undesirable things.

He's not "crawling back"; he's a fooking NC QB for TN with skills TN can use, and who had other options this time around, including OC at VU.

There's no evidence "He made comments about our recruits pubically to try and make TN look bad" (God, the stupidity). There was a voice, on a hot mic in the recruiting room with someone making *a* comment about *one* recruit (Hurd). That's it.
Let's assume it was Martin; BFD. He wasn't entirely wrong. And did he do it "to make TN look bad"?

What are we to take from the fact that Amari Rodgers isn't named Martin? Idiotic poster seems to think it implies something about Martin just before going on to call him a POS and that he should never return to TN.

Baseless conjecture and wild hyperbole. Irrational prejudice. Purpose-driven assumption topped with character slurring.

A totemic edifice to idiocy.

"We" hope ex coaches get Ebola and die. Someone not using a last name ain't nothin.

You dispensed with the first part of your argument, yourself.
Every recruiter is recruiting for *their* school. What less than nice things has he said, specifically, that you take as an egregious offense against TN?

I don't know of any of my friends that grew up in single parent homes that didn't take the last name of the person that raised them. So since Tee didn't marry his son's mom, there really isn't a case to be made about using Tee's last name.

Whether I agree or not you did a fine job answering the question.
