I was happy after Kentucky... THAT was a Tennessee win. God forbid we play Temple in a bowl game...

This team barely beat an absolutely horrible Vandy team. There is no excuse for that. Call it however you want, slick. This is not a well coached team.

Maybe in his third year in a real conference he will finally learn how to coach.

I'm just as happy as any sunshine pumper about the bowl game. I will take nothing away from the team for the effort they've put forth.

But you're simply lying to yourself if you think there are not several red flags from this staff, from top to bottom.

Had we beaten them by at least 10 points tonight, they would've become the first team in SEC history to lose all their conference games by double figures. That's historically bad anyway you look at it. Then throw in a 30 point home loss to Temple, a 3 point win vs 3-9 UMass and a 1 point squeaker vs Charleston Southern (who lost to Presbyterian this year), and I don't think its a stretch that they're a legit nominee for the worst SEC team ever.

Without AJ, Hurd, North and a linemen with 1 ACL....whew! I'm sure I missed more injuries. We didn't give Manning too much crap for barely beating Candy. Go Vols we win!!!

Manning was also 39-6 or as a starter at UT.....earned a slightly longer leash.

I had a feeling it would be close. It s their last game and they played their guts out hoping to steal a win against a depleted Vol team. Until UT is really good this game isnt going to be a blowout. A lot of guys were apart of the 2 wins against them.

It's Candy. All leashes are short when they are even in the game. Injuries piled up and not having AJ hurt. Hurd got hurt on a 9 yard gain. He probably would have had a career day today. We miss North in a big way. I hear you though KB. I'm glad for the win. This is great for our program no matter how ugly it was.

I will say I remember manning last couple of yrs ut struggled beating vandy. Which they did have good defense then but ut had good offense.

When we lose 10-9 we suck.
When we win by 7 we suck.

Good grief!

We sustained heavy heavy losses to personnel and Vandy matched well with a really dinged up oline. Our TEAM "next man up" got us to a bowl - especially Marlin Lane and others.
Enjoy it! Let's try to get #7 and the guys worked their tales off all year to earn this for us - enjoy it!

I love this team and vol fans all over the nation but could some of you stop finding things to b*!ch about!! We went 6-6 and made it to a bowl game for the first time since 2010. Top players hurt/ suspened, not to mention our starting rb at the beginning of the game.....

On a lighter note I hope we play in the Music City bowl so i can make the trip down to nashville and cheer on my vols one more time this year and come out with a win. GO VOLS!!!:machgun:

I'm proud to be a Vol. Today, and every day. Our guys played tough through a ton of injuries and a brutal schedule without an ounce of quit. They are being rewarded with a bowl game that they earned, and deserve. I'm sure SJT and his ilk will find plenty to b*tch about, the negative Nancies will never be happy. I suggest we ignore them. Go Vols, let's get seven!

Oh totally. I think Butch probably needs 9 more recruiting classes, and 11 more years to get this thing really turned around. Very reasonable to just patiently take it on the chin until then. If he's not winning by 2025, I vote we fire him!

SEC EAST CHAMPION Missouri beat Vanderbilt by 10. And we made a bowl game. So yes, I'm happy.
