I’d agree with that opinion. I’d say Tennessee deserves to be somewhere around 35 to 40. We’re an inconsistent team with decent, but not elite, talent. Miles off of last year.

I think most people have noticed the SEC in general is not as strong this year as it has been in recent years. Alabama and Georgia included. I think Georgia still has a shot to win it depending on how well they play but I doubt Alabama wins a single game if they make the playoff. Unless they luck out and get FSU. They might beat Georgia this weekend simply based on familiarity but I don’t see Alabama beating Michigan or Ohio State this year. I would probably take Oregon and Washington over them too. For this year at least, I don’t really see them as much stronger than LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, A&M (ie: 2nd tier SEC). They are very fortunate to still have one loss.

For the first time in years, I would not pick Alabama against any of the top teams (with the possibility of QB-less FSU). But at the same time, I wouldn't pick against Bama either. This Bama team is capable of playing like the best team in the country, but they sure don't do it consistently. At least most of the games have been super entertaining.

I would agree they certainly have enough talent to produce a championship performance, I just don’t think they can do it three times in a row based on what I’ve seen so far.

They have had some very entertaining games this year. I still can’t wrap my head around 2013 and this year happening a decade apart. Both of those were extremely low probability plays. The superstitious among us might say 2033 is the year to watch.
