I am really disappointed

Or maybe because he wants to coach out west and building recruiting connections now will only help. Not to mention considering he wants to be a PAC12 coach, coaching in the conference will only help.

Did you forget that he about left last year too?

We had leaks in the sinking ship last year, they just became more obvious this year.

You might want to ask whoever told you that Dooley is improving the classroom attendance and academics how many players wouldn't have made the bowl trip if Dooley could have beaten that mighty UK team

I don't need to ask anything. I know it's much improved from previous years. That was my point. I didn't say the team was free from any issues.

I didnt know he coached at Texas. Please tell me when he did.

You're saying he left to help himself get a PAC 12 job and he "almost left" last season.

He would have been Texas' DC had he left after last season. Please explain how that would have helped his PAC 12 job hopes?

He's done a decent job recruiting considering the situation. How much is it him, his staff, or the University selling itself?

Besides that, I can't answer your question any further.

It's on Dooley to put together a plan to sell his program, but he also has to work with the AD to do that. I don't think Dooley is very easy to work with, given the results we have seen and coaches leaving. That old excuse of schools poaching your great assistants is a good one to use, when no one wants to really work with you.

Zero improvement? Its hard to improve on offense when you lose your two most important players. Of course your offense is going to regress.

If you think defense didn't get better as the year went on then I dont know what to tell you. Our team went from getting torched by Florida to holding UGA and USC under 20 points.

How did the OL look against Montana? How did it look against UK? Zero improvement. How did the backs look in the first few games compared to the last? SCe was without Lattimore, not that impressive. I guess you forgot that Arky game after that too.

He almost left because he was going to get more money and a better contract. Then we gave him the no buyout clause in his contract. Did you actually think he would stay if a job he wanted opened up?

It would only help him slightly more since he could build relations in Texas but if he did bolt, it would have been for the money.

Bray's thumb! Hunter's knee! That's the reason the OL and run game were terrible

Been in a lot of game planning over my years as a football coach. Never once have we ever discussed the "what if player X gets hurt" plan. You do not go into a game thinking about your players getting hurt and not able to play. What you do is you hope that those two's and three's who only got minimal reps during the week will be good enough to come in and get the job done. It is apparent that the two's and three's UT had to play with alot this year where not good enough. But, can't you coach them up? Yes you can but coaching up only gets you so far if the player across from them is bigger and stronger and more experienced and coached up as well. Dooley haters are just going to be like that no matter what he does.
The problem with the DC search is that for some reason many on here feel a sense of entitlement. They think they are entitled to know each and every step of the process. Sorry, but this is not the case. The AD and the HC will hire who they are going to hire in the timeframe they have. Deal with it. Once the hire is announced, then you can either support that person or not, your choice, but you only hurt yourself with your negativity.
Once again it is those that think UT should just snap their fingers and Coach X will automatically jump to be our DC. It is a very good job for the right person. Who that person is, well only God, David Hart, and Derek Dooley know. I apologize for being long winded and I am sorry Coach Dooley has not called some of you to ask your opinion of who he should hire. I guess he forgot that your were a part of the staff.

Is Arky not a top 5 team?

Does USCjr not have a great offensive line?

Our oline was a problem, but they showed flashes in the LSU, Bama, and Vandy game.

Him leaving the SEC, to go be part of the armpit of the Pac-12 historically, tells me a lot about how Wilcox views SEC level competition. Ever wonder why Peterson doesn't leave Boise??

I realize most of you reactionaries aren't old enough to remember the Majors' years, but you would have had a full throttle meltdown during his time here. Assistants came and went, but they were always good ones.
Do any of you reactionaries know how many DCs Majors went through while he was here? OCs? Even though we weren't winning a bunch of games, UT got the reputation for having some of the most NFL ready players of any school in the country.

I love hearing from someone, that ABSOLUTELY has no clue, that Dooley is hard to work with

The ships been sinking since 2005

Kiffin started to fill the leaks, but blew a big hole in the bottom

Dooley, well, he has been trying to plug the holes, but he is also trying to keep off the sharks, circling the ship ,at the same time
