Hypothetical Situation...

That worse case scenario is why I asked if anyone here would promote Wilcox to head coach to keep him and all other staff and let go of DD and JC since it's rumored AD wanted JC gone anyway. That seems like a raw deal too and an unproven coach in Wilcox but you'd have some continuity on all but offense.

Yes...I would trade right now...fair or not.

Look it's obvious you have an agenda vs. Dooley and that's fine. But the only one that is going to get fired is Hiestand. Even then, his college resume was pretty great. He also got us Baggett, who Bama went hard after and I believe the Cowboys also did, Sirmon, Wilcox, and Russell. All 4 of these coaches have and will always receive interest from other teams.

If he has an agenda against Dooley, then what does that mean you have? An affair with Dooley? Please.

Oh, and since you are going to anyways, yes, I got the depth chart on the defensive line wrong.

My position is clear: Dooley by the end of this recruiting cycle will have laid a foundation that has re-stocked the depth and talent on this roster. He has one year to prove he can win with it. If not, bye bye. If that's an affair, I'm a terrible adulterer.

I think it's obvious that law doesn't have an agenda against Dooley. I think you should look at some of his earlier threads/blogs from earlier in the year.

I'm pretty sure you and LawVol have the same idea.

Unless you're referring to the 2013 season.

It has always been three to earn a fourth....fair or not. With next year's schedule the talent to go 8-4 is there.

Complete and utter garbage. Simply recognizing what's staring you in the face that things don't look good for Dooley doesn't mean you have "an agenda" against him. I like the man; I wish he could succeed, but I also recognize that it looks doubtful if he will. You're just a sheep that sticks his head up the coach's ass and refuses to accept reality, and when someone else even dare to question said coach, you resort to saying things, "you have an agenda" or taking elementary cheap shots at people. That's why you're a joke.

And yea, you should definitely have lots of confidence he can pick good coaches since he's more than likely going to have to fire at least 2 of his current staff that he hired.

Let's be fair.. Chaney was held over mainly to make the transition easier on the players and he's prolly only gonna have to fire Hiestand. Don't act like Dooley hasn't made good hires.

I don't know if I've ever heard of a coach taking this much heat in year two and survive

For some reason, it's ironic to call someone out for taking cheap shots when you have a history of name calling on this board. But anyways, there is nothing staring anyone in the face. You are basing this on a scenario that is not likely to occur. And I've made my stance clear on Dooley so being a sheep simply doesn't apply but nice try.

Reality? I thought this was hypothetical.

Law's logic: Can't credit Dooley for Thompson but you credit him for Chaney.

Well, tvols75 gives Dooley credit for Lance Thompson, so he should get credit for Chaney as well under that scenario.

by the way, you got the depth chart on the defensive line wrong

This absolutely is a hypothetical. My opinion is that Dooley is unlikely to succeed here. At best, I think next year will be his last year. I see no reason to think otherwise, and if the entire staff either is fired or leaves for other jobs, that makes me feel that Dooley's failure is a near certainty. I don't take pleasure in that; I honestly like Dooley and hope he succeeds, but I don't think he will.

Really? You credited Kiffin for Thompson and then said Dooley has to fire two of his coaches, one being Chaney. Which one is it?

I think Chaney needs to be fired. You credited Dooley for landing Thompson, so I stayed with your standard and credited Dooley for keeping Chaney. You're the one that needs to decide which one it is.

Even if we were to consider that Kiffin hired Chaney like he hired Thompson, Kiffin didn't have Chaney calling plays. Dooley does, and we scored 7 points against UK.

And I have absolutely no problem with that view. He will be here next year and the results will determine his fate. That is pretty much what I've said all along.

This sums it up nicely.

I'll take it a step further and say that it looks to me like Dooley is in way over his head. I hope I'm wrong.
