What was Notre Dame's record in '56?The biggest Heisman heist was Wooden winning over Manning, totally fueled by media who wanted to see that. Also, Hornung winning in 1956 was a total joke as well. I really don't like popularity contests and those that vote for their regional boys. Makes the validity (to me) kind of a sham. It's the kind of popularity contest that is MLB's All-Star game.
My vote would go to Kyler this year, but any of the three probably deserve to win it. Tua would have been the clear winner had he not gotten hurt in Atlanta last week.
Just cause he got hurt doesn’t discredit what he’s done this year.
Plus he didn’t play in the fourth quarter all year except I think two games, the SEC title game and I believe the LSU game.
I’m not fan of Bama but that kid put those numbers up by playing half a game pretty much all year, he’d have blown Kyker out the water if he had played all four quarters for every game

Same here Hoss. ESPN and more specially Chris Fowler made sure Peyton got screwed. I haven't and will never watch the presentation again even if and when Tennessee has another finalist. I know it's petty but it is what it is.Same here. I swore that night I’d never watch that again. I haven’t.
Is that irrational of me? I’m sure it is. Don’t care, though.
I don't think I've ever heard anybody argue Shuler over Charlie Ward.I understand being bitter about Peyton. That makes sense whether one agrees with who got the Heisman that year or not.
Majors and Shuler? Stop, Just stop.
Jim Brown should have won in 56. He's the one with a beef. And one can't even begin to make an argument for Shuler over Charlie Ward before being told to have a coke and a smile and to shut the hell up.
I agree with most of your premise but Murray's numbers are insane. He put 5,000 total yards and 51 touchdowns. Tua put up 3,500 yards and 42 touchdowns. Very good but even if he plays the fourth quarter of each game those numbers are probably equal
