Death. Taxes. Tennessee fans whining about a College Football HOF and NFL HOF winning over another College Football HOF and NFL HOF 21 years ago. So ridiculous.

The biggest Heisman heist was Wooden winning over Manning, totally fueled by media who wanted to see that. Also, Hornung winning in 1956 was a total joke as well. I really don't like popularity contests and those that vote for their regional boys. Makes the validity (to me) kind of a sham. It's the kind of popularity contest that is MLB's All-Star game.
What was Notre Dame's record in '56?

My vote would go to Kyler this year, but any of the three probably deserve to win it. Tua would have been the clear winner had he not gotten hurt in Atlanta last week.

Just cause he got hurt doesn’t discredit what he’s done this year.

Plus he didn’t play in the fourth quarter all year except I think two games, the SEC title game and I believe the LSU game.

I’m not fan of Bama but that kid put those numbers up by playing half a game pretty much all year, he’d have blown Kyker out the water if he had played all four quarters for every game

Despite my absolute disdain for Bama, I am a fan of Tua and Hurts.

I agree with most of your premise but Murray's numbers are insane. He put 5,000 total yards and 51 touchdowns. Tua put up 3,500 yards and 42 touchdowns. Very good but even if he plays the fourth quarter of each game those numbers are probably equal

Same here. I swore that night I’d never watch that again. I haven’t.
Is that irrational of me? I’m sure it is. Don’t care, though.
Same here Hoss. ESPN and more specially Chris Fowler made sure Peyton got screwed. I haven't and will never watch the presentation again even if and when Tennessee has another finalist. I know it's petty but it is what it is.

I like it that Tua sucked so bad last week (even before he got hurt) that he likely blew his shot. Murray will probably win. And he deserves it.

I understand being bitter about Peyton. That makes sense whether one agrees with who got the Heisman that year or not.

Majors and Shuler? Stop, Just stop.

Jim Brown should have won in 56. He's the one with a beef. And one can't even begin to make an argument for Shuler over Charlie Ward before being told to have a coke and a smile and to shut the hell up.

I haven't seen a Heisman since Peyton was robbed by the ESPN hype machine.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but Tennessee has the most Heisman runners up WITHOUT a Heisman winner.

Go Vols!!!

I don't think I've ever heard anybody argue Shuler over Charlie Ward.

When was the last time a winner was worth anything in the NFL?

Cam Newton is the last Heisman winner who's been consistently successful in the NFL. However, the last five Heisman winners have shown flashes in the NFL, and one or more of them could end up as solid career NFL players.

Go Vols!!!

Even if you truly think that, we’ve seen Kyler against SEC defenses and he wasn’t good. Now all of a sudden he’s some top player cause the Big 12 doesn’t play defense?

Nah the kid is a product of the defenses he’s played against.

Since Peyton got robbed, there have only been a few years were I have had any interest in the Heisman. With each passing year I care less about the award. Like many, the night Woodson won over Manning was a turning point.
