Hunter has checked out? (merged)

Hunter's playing it safe. He'll make plays where he can, but IDT he's going to put his future at risk for a team that's playing to stay out of the basement of the SEC.

Everybody bought into the three-headed monster hype and it didn't happen. Hunter's enthusiasm seems to have dwindled with the hype and our hopes for a good season.

I tried to tell everybody how bad it hurt to loose Da'Rick.

Agree with op here he's done He's just making sure he does not get hurt. Just my thoughts. But it is the truth

I would think if you are playing for the NFL, you would not be visibly dogging it so a bunch of armchair QB's could see it more less NFL scouts. It would be like slacking off at work to get a raise or promotion....

Ihave noticed that Hunter has aligator arms over the middle. Last years injury has made him timid and too careful. That is usually a good way to get hurt again. That said, I can see why he would play like that. He stands to lose major dollars if hurt again.

Not true at all. It wasn't like he tried to run anyone over. He's not going hard after balls. He's not jumping or adjusting. He's dropping passes that hit him squarely in the hands.

He's playing to make it to draft day... he believes the headlines.

Unfortunately for him if he keeps it up, pro scouts don't listen to characters like McShay. They look at every video clip they can find. He is NOT a first round player right now.

Agree.. Hunter has had more drops than Zach Rogers.. He is not trying to get separation or lay out for a ball.. Kinda hard to draft a player in the 1st round that cant catch a perfectly thrown ball on more than several occasions.. look at pig.. he has been diving after balls.. kid wants to play..

play like a puss to get to the NFL or will he grow a set of balls and catch the ball regardless of getting hit?? i hope herman told him he better and if not they gonna injure him in practice. this me first bs has to stop. it's time to win and catching the ball when thrown your way helps do that.

Wow. Leader in the clubhouse for classiest post of the year. To answer your question, if he's smart he'll do the former. Getting paid to support the family you referenced should be priority number one.

if he can support his family right now.. then the nfl can wait alittle longer. he needs to catch the ball when it is thrown to him. period.

LOL. Whatever dude. Some things are just more important than risking irreparably breaking your body while playing a game for free, especially when you can get paid millions for playing it next year as long as he doesn't get hurt again.. Get a little perspective.

This.

I understand the position some people have- but, I think some people who don't have that perspective are not parents. More than likely OP is still being taken care of by his parents so he doesn't quite understand that drive inside of us to provide for our children.

Would like to see Hunter concentrate more. Been shocked how many drops, wrong routes and timing issues he has had.

i would give my all including my body for a win for tennessee. you people on this board don't understand. most never will. he is not playing the game for free. he should be getting an education while he can, his scholarship is paying for him to be at tennessee, he could at least catch crucial balls that can help us win some big games. instead of being stone hands and a puss.

Nobody is arguing that point. We all agree.

What we don't agree with is the OP posting a ridiculous thread taking a low blow at JH's family (balls like he had when he got that woman pregnant??) and then wishing for him to get hurt in practice.

Family is #1. Period. If you have children and they aren't #1 in your life, you are a terrible parent. Period.

And yes.. I used the "." symble and said period. Because I'm cool like that. Period.

I'm all for the free expression of ideas.....but this is hilarious.

Justin Hunter has never been a physical receiver. He is a year removed from the most freak knee injury I've ever seen. He is little timid, but can you imagine what this offense would look like without him?
