Who will police this? What could anybody do to the administration to hold them accountable? Call them names?
Also, Is CJH a poor hire? You havent even given the guy a chance! Lord have mercy!

He is very good indeed and would have been a great hire here IMO. He was my recommended pick. But he wasn’t chosen, so I am moving on and want to do all I can to help Coach Huepel succeed. Water under the bridge can no longer be drank.

Likewise they should be rewarded for shielding us from coaches whose baggage has kept them from serious consideration by any other Power 5 school. Can you provide any evidence he was contacted by any other peer institution to even see if he had any interest in their positions? If not, please do not be cluttering up our board with posts abut these click bait specials.

Hugh Freeze will probably be available in 3 years if it doesn't work out with Heupel. The NCAA problems should be passed and Freeze's recovery/penance should be near complete if he keeps his nose clean.

You can be certain that CJH will be coaching Tennessee a lot longer than three seasons.

And UT will still have the opportunity to outbid them if they believe that strongly in him.

There is something going on there either with Freeze or hiring programs. There were several jobs open and he didn't get strongly pursued.

I'm sure there are problems attached to him, but by all accounts he has turned his life around and can obviously still win. The point im making is...what baggage could be worse than letting the current admin dig us into a bigger hole for 3-4 years. We just hired a rb coach whose BEST offense he ever fielded was ranked 107th in the nation. His other offenses were 125th, 124th and 115th. Just don't see many recruits getting excited about that....or current players for that matter.

First, congrats on perhaps the most amazing run-on sentences in Volnation history. Remarkable.

Second, UT didn't hire him but neither did anyone else. There are valid reasons for not hiring him. The fact that you don't understand them or that you disagree with them doesn't make them invalid. Evidence so far suggests we hired a pretty good football coach. Only time will tell.

If he is such a football savior at such a bargain why are other marginal programs not cutting their HCs loose and making offers to him? The absolute absence of a market for him is telling and you cannot ignore it. Just for the record, what actual accounts are you referencing concerning him turning his life around? Could you link a couple? I am sure he has been very conservative in public, but that does not necessarily mean a change of heart more than it means he has learned how to cover up his inclinations.

There is a risk/reward ratio with every coach, and programs in our current situation have to minimize the risk. He and he alone is responsible for the ratio he currently has, not the programs in the market for a coach. It is particularly distressing that he took over a program under NCAA scrutiny following the Nutt fiasco, and doubled down with own actions to the point that the NCAA required wins by both coaches to be taken away. End of story.

The board of trustees need to be involved in this just like they were with the Schiano debacle. If you want to stick your head in sand and believe that there is ANY chance this staff will EVER be able to compete with Florida, UGA, or Bama, then just stick your head in the sand and wait and see what the rest of us already know. Watch the recruiting rankings fall. Be prepared for 2-4 win seasons and watch the stadium be as empty as you have ever seen it for the next 3-4 years.

He has made it quiet clear that he wouldn't leave Liberty except for the right opportunity. No other program that has the resources of UT has performed this poorly.
