Do people not recognize spin when they hear it? What else was Boyd going to say? Politicians always say the opposite of what just occurred.
Right? We just fired a man because of lack of integrity...( ACTUALLY IT WAS BECAUSE HE SUCKED AS A HC)

He was supposed to comment on integrity..

I don’t think the multiple “integrity” lines from Randy Boyd was an accident. That seemed to me it was direct shots at Freeze.
Not sure about direct shots at Freeze, but it would seem to indicate that our next hire will be to Pruitt what Cuonzo Martin was to Bruce Pearl. You don't use the word "integrity" a dozen times in 3 minutes and then sign off on hiring a guy who was fired from his last job for utilizing escort services with a state-issued phone.

I agree that the odds of Tenn hiring Freeze are slim to none. I hope I'm wrong though, because I would bet my paycheck Freeze would have the Vols competing for the Eastern Division title within his third year. Winning solves a lot of problems. I seriously doubt a new AD is going to risk his reputation and job on a coach with a shady past, especially after this investigation. I imagine Tenn will hire someone with a crispy clean background with a mediocre coaching background to "stabilize" the program and the suck will continue.

Freeze or not they need a home run proven HC hire that can win with less talent.

Sadly I doubt very much they’ll go in that direction.

Google coach incoming?

I think they know bad how they fed up the last four hires. They aren’t crazy.
Well they repeated it 4 times with Kiffin, Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt. You know what they say about insanity. Plus, they’ve already said we’re using a search firm again. When I hear the words “search firm,” I equate that to “we’re doomed.”

Hugh Freeze needs to go to the pros. He is nothing but a train reck to a power 5 program.
Means: His ass better win 3 Natty's before he puts you on probation

Dude....he got caught.
He wasn't rapping little children or insulting recruits parents.
I've known multiple pastors that have messed around.

Coaches are on the road a lot.
He got caught. He has paid for that.

You're not Christ, so it doesn't matter if you believe he is genuine or not.
No and neither are you. And he isn’t a likely option so bashing other candidates to prop up Freeze? I don’t have a dog in this fight. After the last two hires, I’m not going to get invested in any of these candidates. It wasn’t just the hookers- Ole Miss was lost postseason and scholarships for impermissible payments.
On top of that, he’s been blackballed by the SEC Commissioner, so unless Sankey has spent two years healing with Falwell Jr as well, it’s a moot argument.

Report: Alabama wanted to hire Hugh Freeze as co-OC, but SEC commissioner Greg Sankey discouraged it

And who can forget his paddling stories as well.
Hugh Freeze stories emerge from former female students

He’s a good coach, and I wouldn’t complain about him getting hired, but spare me the changed man stories.

Integrity? He does realize this is SEC football, right? What we've done is no different and likely minor in comparison to others in this league do regularly.

He should have had the integrity NOT TO GET CAUGHT!! SEC, SEC, SEC

I don’t disagree.......but it could also be like yelling loudly to “stop resisting” at a handcuffed suspect.

Fellas, I'm fully confident the decisions on AD and coach have already been made and are wrapping up now. I also think they were made by businessmen with the money to clean up this mess of a program - with the understanding that administrators, bureaucrats and Fulmer stay out of the way, letting them make the business decisions - and pay any bills.
Fulmer likely lost his battle to retain his man Pruitt another year, so was provided a graceful exit in order to let it all go down. I'm betting the next coach wanted Steele and UT moved early to wrap that hire up with his endorsement. I'm also guessing the infractions are not so severe and won't kill us. Pruitt will probably sue and settle. Not an insider, or psychic, I just have a reliable political sense for correctly reading/estimating organizational behavior. I'm also guessing the favored coach was selected weeks ago. Perhaps Freeze - since he was the big name with all the interest / buzz at the time these decisions were likely made..

I don’t see Freeze happening, but this is the university that really thought rehiring a previous fire into a promotion so that he could hire someone with no head coaching experience to handle the biggest rebuild in program history would work out fine...

If your correct, an announcement will come promptly

After all that organizational thought, Freeze is absolutely , undeniably and bet the farm on it NOT our next coach.

Obviously, their are many other possibilities, but I don't see how you can preclude the possibility of Freeze . If the people paying the bills are in charge this time, they will make a decision based upon performance potential, not politics.
