My uncle has been been best friends with Hugh since childhood. They coached together at Lambuth. He’s saying that Hugh told him he was offered the Auburn job but turned it down. Says Hugh thinks he’s going to get the Tennessee job.

It’s as solid as a source as I could think of. I just would t be surprised if Hugh was FOS about being offered the Auburn job.

Why would it be hard to believe that Auburn offered Freeze? They want to win.

Napier hasn’t any stinkers yet like the 5-7 last season at Ole Miss. What happened there? Why the regression if Freeze is so good? Looks similar to UT under Butch and Pruitt.

Has Napier competed in division with Bama, LSU, Auburn, A&M, and a heated rival in MState? And that’s not even including the cross division schedule. And by the way they best UGA 45-14 and could have easily won 3-4 more games had they gotten the breaks including FSU and Bama.

Random coach B went 10-3 at say Vanderbilt.

Random coach A was in his first season. He took over a team that had previously went 12-1.

“Record” is NOT all we have. One record vs another is not the same......and would not trump all other determining factors.

He did, but he didn’t lose to Vanderbilt either his first year... I dare to say that UL is a better program who also happens to be a top 25 team now. That’s not exactly a terrible loss for a half cocked roster for Liberty that first year.

All we hear is.......it takes years!

Freeze has been in 3 spots......it didn’t take him.......years at any of them.......he turned things around in year ONE at all three of them.

there are certainly “other” good candidates......but I’m not sure how people seem to claim Freeze isn’t or shouldn’t be one of them.

Other than his baggage......I don’t know what there is “not” to like.


He wins from the get go
He turns “down” programs around
He knows offense
He has beaten good teams
He does more with less

I get the feeling some want Pruitt and some want the Saban (or the next Saban).......well Pruitt sucks and Saban ain’t coming, who is the next Saban??? No one knows........what we do know for a fact is.......Freeze improved 3 programs from year 1, he has beaten good teams, and he has a good overall record .663% (10 wins at 3 different schools, 1 of those he was only at one year, another he has only been at 2 years).

5-7 enough said. I’ll pull for him to succeed if he comes here but based on all the info out there I believe UT will hire someone else if Pruitt is fired.

Apologize if its been reported on here, but does anyone know the buyout a school (Tennessee) might owe LIberty should they hire Freeze? This will absolutely matter if UT has to pay buyout on Pruitt - and they will have to I feel certain.

Ok. At first glance, I wanted to like this post however, looking back to when Fulmer hired Pruitt, what other choices did he really have? I believe Fullmer is orange through and through and will do what is right for Vol nation at the appropriate time. (hint: I feel a strong arctic freeze coming through Knoxville)

There are as good or better options out there for UT if we fire Pruitt. The NCAA is out to get Freeze because of his previous misdeeds. We don’t need that heat.

We’re Freezing...we need all the heat we can get.
