Then how are we in the middle of a massive expensive renovation of Neyland when the football team hasn't won a damn thing in over a decade? You have to do fundraising; you have to arrange financing. You have to manage investments so that you have the cash on hand to start projects when you need them. I would have expected a guy with MBA in his username to understand that you can win 10 championships in a row and it still doesn't build you a new stadium.
Don't overcomplicate the business model of a sports program. Cash flow follows victory at the highest levels attainable.
Generating revenues and donations is mostly about winning. Don't be silly. It doesn't take an MBA.
Quit crediting Hamilton for what UT players and coaches accomplish.
TBA improvements: Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols
Neyland renovations: To say the football team hasn't won 'a damn thing' in over a decade is flat wrong. That's a slap in the face to a lot of players and coaches who did a whole lot more than Hamilton to earn the program the revenues it has.
The success of the Vols franchise from the Majors years forward deserves credit.
And while we're talking about it, why not credit CBP and CBP's players for their success?
If you don't believe in UT, you can't sell it. You've got a bad case of Hamiltonitis. Quit making excuses for not being able to hire quality coaches. And quit pretending UT just showed up for college football when Hamilton arrived on the scene. Nothing could be further from the truth. The fact that the guy can even make people think UT is just not desirable enough to be able to hire a quality coach is just too stupid.
The least the program can do is give another man a chance. I've heard enough bellyaching about how hard his job is. Give it to someone who, at the very least, has enough confidence to do the job. That alone disqualifies you and Hamilton.
