How good is Jim Chaney?

Fromm is bad. Letting Fields go was a head scratcher, promoting OC from inside rather than making a good hire is all Kirby Smart. Lots of UGA fans melting, I'm basking in it.

Losing Chaney, to UT, and three top receivers, to the NFL.........I can understand why they struggle. LSU has good(Not great) defense. You aren't going to line up, and just run them over. The outcome was no shock.

UGA still should have been able to run on LSU with the other backs (all studs) and the OL that preseason was considered the best in college football. LSU run D has been mediocre all year, but maybe they had a wake up call after getting plowed by ole miss

Watching Georgia’s offense struggle tonight against a defense that’s been slightly above average all year made me smile.

UGA is rolling with 5-star studs all over the place and a QB they chose over Justin Fields, but have regressed mightily without Jim Chaney.

My thread title is rhetorical. Jim’s a boss and it’s great to be a Tennessee Vol!

I was getting ready to ask if you were serious and/or had eyes Clark...

Uga was without it's top 3 wr's for the entire game....I hate them.. but using that game and Chaney in the same sentence isn't fair.

The dudes fat...really fat...so what.... people making fun of his weight probably have issues with themselves as well...

Just because you have been following UT football for 60 plus years doesn't grant you this magical crown of I'm right and you are wrong.

Does anyone know who the OC is at LSU?

OC are kinda like the qb. They get too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses.

Unless he has changed drastically, I don't recall him being a genius the last time he was here and he wasn't retained.
It’s Steve Emsinger (or something like that) but Joe Brady is the difference maker. Unique situation. Here’s a good article.

Meet the 30-year-old former William & Mary WR who changed LSU

Yes. Their O has struggled all year.
It’s wonderful.

Say what you like, in my opinion Jim Chaney is not even in the same league with Lane Kiffin calling offensive plays !!! Call me an idiot if you like, have been called much worse. I never have liked Chaney, nor will I ever like him.
IDIOT

Smart is Richt 2.0. All those top recruits and can't win. Losing Chaney hurt the Dawgs, too.

He's very good. But his grade is incomplete. (JMO)
Kinda had one arm tied behind his back with QB play.
This. Let’s hope when he gets an SEC caliber QB he prove us doubters wrong. Maybe we have one coming next year, we’ll see.

Better than anything at UT right now.

He's a great OC. Buffet's were glad to have him back as well!
Again with the childish comments. Every time one of these moronish, childish statements are made I can feel the collective IQ of this board drop a couple of points. I am sure that most of the posters making these comments have plenty in their lives that can be made fun of from an anonymous standpoint.

Jim’s also the OC last year that chose that QB to play over Justin Fields. Are you 100% certain it was him that made the decision? IT is usually the HC that has the final say in personnel matters.
And also the OC on a team this year that had most of us wondering what the hell is our QB situation this year. They knew who they wanted. It took time to get one that finally understood the playbook. In this case it was JG, had BM figured it out, he would have been "the man"
Not the HC either time but makes me wonder how much influence was his on these decisions OC has input, HC makes the call.
Fixed your post.

Sounds like he stole your lunch one day and you can’t get passed it. He’s well regarded by the entire coaching industry. You don’t become the OC at the places he’s coached and be mediocre.

Yup, all you have to do is look at UGAs struggling offense this year to have your answer. When we have more weapons to work with on offense, Chaney will great here as he was his first time.
Yeah maybe Pruitt will go out and recruit somebody like Justin Fields so Chaney can warm the bench with him.
