How about them Vols!

Tbh, it went a little better than I expected it to be. Of course there is always room for improvement. Still shot ourselves in the foot too much or we could have really had a ball game. I'm not super happy, but I'm also not depressed or something.

We covered the spread. We held them under 40 points for the first time this year. We didnt get absolutely crushed. It was a 12 point game early in the 4th. We showed improvement. Take a week off to rest up. On to the next one.

Good post. I'm not one to celebrate a loss but I think any objective fan who actually watched the entire game has to be encouraged after last week. Long way to go but they are improving and played hard til the bitter end. Realistically I think that's all we could have asked for after last week. These guys could have mailed it in after that performance. Definitely some good things to take into the bye week.

Antithetical? Anti-*******-thetical? Sure you ain't pulling for Vandy, kid? To address your point, I am happy about this game. This game made me happy starting when we went up a td from 6 points. It made me happy when our defense showed up. It made me happy we didnt lay down and take it like a bunch of democrats. Do not go gentle into that good night, fellow vols

I gave you a like for the football reference but you need to study more politics.

Yea we lost. We know we suck. I hate moral victories but we need them to sell recruiting. After the Florida game last week I assumed no one would come to this abomination.
Georgia fans are pissed! I’m happy about this game even though we still got ā€œdominatedā€

We will keep improving. I’m sur the negavols will bitch about this thread but did they expect us to win this game? This was a big game for our program. I have faith in beating one of Vandy, Missouri, Kentucky, or South Carolina now.

Honestly if they hadn’t run a fumble recovery in for TD early, it would have been a 1 score game with 10min to play.

Now UGA overpowered us on that 7min possession after our last score but otherwise I was shocked at how close the game really was for a minute.

Kinda gives me optimism about Auburn.

Yes.my favorite part of the game is when fields was laughing on the sideline then got drilled soon after and was wobbling on the sideline. Not gonna lie, I said a prayer for him at that moment but he got welcomed to the SEC

About time we christened someone to the SEC. I wish someone would have stuck their facemask right under mayes facemask and introduced him. Just to be clear, i don't wish injury just a wake up call from TENNESSEE.

They looked like they deserved to be there today, unlike last week. I don't expect any victories. My expectations were low and they exceeded them. On to the next one.

I liked what I saw on D today
Really? Dline looked much better, not much aftet that. They had moments they looked good. Tackling was pretty real bad, receivers ran wide open often. Luckily they werent seen by the qb or dropped passes.

Good thing is we only see one or two more teams with comparative talent to uga.

I thought we showed some improvement. I'm happy as long we're getting better. Anyone who thought we had what we needed to beat the number 2 ranked team in the nation is delusional. After Auburn and Alabama I think we will be ready to play if all our guys ain't out of commission with broken legs and concussions.😁

Never settle for mediocrity. Never settle for next time. Never settle for "SEC East Champions." Never settle for second place. Never settle for "well we almost." Never settle for excuses. NEVER SETTLE.
Sounds like your doomed to be unhappy in all parts of life

I’ve read the negative on a few threads. For all you in here who don’t exactly understand the game, it’s not our coaches. You can only teach and coach so much but it’s up to the players to win their battle and do their job. It’s a combination of young players learning each game and lack of depth in key positions. This season may not show it but we are headed in the right direction. Saban wouldn’t even produce 8 wins with this team this year. We can’t judge the coaches until at least the 3rd season. I do expect to see vast improvement next year.

I'm never happy with any loss.

I did see improvement and that's a positive step in the right direction.

We DID hit their QB and we DID cause him to fumble, GREAT play by us.

Bad luck for us that the fumbled ball hit the turf 1 time and bounced high up and landed right in the belly of the UGa player that took t to the house.

If the ball bounced another way we might have recovered that fumble and that's 7 points off the board for UGa.

Another GREAT play by us was the INT but we shot ourself in the foot on that play with a penalty.

No penalty and we keep that ball and that's another 7 points off the board for UGa.

We're still having our normal bad luck and hurting ourselves too much with dumb penalties.

At least we showed some good fight and positive progress against the #2 team in the country and we lost by less than most everyone expected.

Moving in the right direction IMHO.

You sound like a bunch of women bit*hing. Geeze, I can't believe some of you are so reluctant to say we improved. I guarantee you, Georgia is disappointed they didn't beat us by more. We improved from last week, we looked like we played 4 quarters.

If NOT turning the ball over 6 times is considered improvement then we improved. Outside of that what really changed? Like serious I’m not being argumentative...what areas do you all see improvement?

So we’ve established we are still ā€œunluckyā€ which is usually a code word for ā€œbad footballā€ team. Cause good teams create their own luck.

INT was a free play because we were still an undisciplined mess.

We did fight for four Quarters but we did that last week.

Outside of not being a turnover machine I don’t see that much difference...

ā€œFeeling like we improvedā€ is not evidence of improvement. Show me evidence and I’ll believe we have improved! Like seriously I like the discussion

Taking in to account we played the #2 best team in the nation:
Taylor sacked Fromm 3 times in the game, forced two fumbles
22 plays for 68 yards in the fist half/35 for 141 in the second
Doyle did exceptional punting the ball
You saw players fight for 4 quarters!
At the end of the day, while you may not be impressed. I'm sure GA is disappointed with how the game went, even with their win.
