How about them Vols!

You sound like a bunch of women bit*hing. Geeze, I can't believe some of you are so reluctant to say we improved. I guarantee you, Georgia is disappointed they didn't beat us by more. We improved from last week, we looked like we played 4 quarters.

It’s fine to question my post. I’m surprised the people attacking me thought we could win though.

Pretty sure most (should have been all) knew we would not win this game. Most would agree they did not mail it in, that was good to see. Weakness at QB and will be there until JG is benched. Helton is a mess it seems with his play calls. D did look better, so coaching on that side of the ball is working out. Going to be difficult to win a conference game period.

It will be difficult to win conference games but I love how we played after last week. Some choose half empty and some choose half full. It’s sad...

We aren't ******* settling. We are cheering on the improvement and the display of passion.

I was specifically reacting to the idea of being happy about this game. You can be positive but also not settle for failure. They are not antithetical to one another. There's no reason to distort what was an ugly loss into something resembling a win. It wasn't a win. I don't believe anything about this game could be used to sell recruits on our program. The only major things -- playing time, lack of depth, attitude change -- those were apparent before we went to Athens. Didn't need to get our butts kicked down there to advertise those.

Anyway. Don't settle. That's my point. You either settle for Mike Shula or you fire him and hire Nick Saban. So to speak.

Never settle for mediocrity. Never settle for next time. Never settle for "SEC East Champions." Never settle for second place. Never settle for "well we almost." Never settle for excuses. NEVER SETTLE.

Agreed. I played in a league where the last place team was always given "The Sportsmanship Award" every year. I was proud when one coach and his entire team didn't show up for their "award." That league quit handing that humiliation out from that point forward.

Antithetical? Anti-*******-thetical? Sure you ain't pulling for Vandy, kid? To address your point, I am happy about this game. This game made me happy starting when we went up a td from 6 points. It made me happy when our defense showed up. It made me happy we didnt lay down and take it like a bunch of democrats. Do not go gentle into that good night, fellow vols

This thread is celebrating progress. Keep hoping for unrealistic expectations though.

Wait, really, are you seriously getting on me for my language? I was not aware we had standard for that here. Good to know. Appreciate the kid part though. Good to still feel young some days.

And look you want to be happy be about this game you go right ahead. I don't even think I really *attacked* the poster to start -- I just said don't settle. I wouldn't be happy after this game and going "how about them Vols!" to people on the Strip after a 38-12 loss. That's just ... not realistic. Take the loss and learn from it, absolutely, but there's not a lot of silver lining to take from that score or that result.

I said how about them Vols when it was 24-12. The thread didn’t age very well. I’m still happy with how we competed though. I would hate to be such a Debbie downer though.

Yes.my favorite part of the game is when fields was laughing on the sideline then got drilled soon after and was wobbling on the sideline. Not gonna lie, I said a prayer for him at that moment but he got welcomed to the SEC
