Helton Exposed

I feel like this gives us a better understanding of what went wrong with our offense last year, but I’m not sure how.

No, it doesn't. Of equal or more importance was the attitude of toxic players. No matter how good or bad you are, if you players that don't want to play, you lose.

Never saw the fit here either.
Ditto. If all the Pruitt hires this one was a conundrum. I said it in this forum that he needed a season, mature play caller:
Well, thank you WKU for taking that **** show off our hands.

Hilltoppers lost to a fcs team in Tyson Helton's season opener. Never understood the hire here.

It's one freakin' game. Chip Kelly lost his first at Oregon. He then proceeded to go 46-6 the next 52 games.

Btw, Western Kentucky was 3-9 last year. It's not like Helton inherited Alabama's roster.

I'm not the expert some are, but I never understood it or liked it. It was a mistake and I think Pruitt realized pretty quick. He made made a few his first year. Let's hope he learned from them and moves on.

Helton did not play DB last night. The DBs (missing their best CB due to injury) got burnt on trick plays and were too aggressive looking to stop the run (as evidenced by giving up only 20 yards on the ground) and got burned on deep passes. Almost 500 yards of total offense for WKU. That is not too bad.

Didn’t Pruitt take over a struggling program that went 4-8 the year before and lose his season opener not long ago as well?

You shush now
