Helton Exposed

Honestly, considerin all the factors already listed in this thread, this is a wash and probably dont amount to a hill of beans far as what kinda HC Helton will make for WKU. Sure am glad they took him off our hands, though.

Admittedly though, Helton appears to have taken over a mess. Western went 3-9, including a loss to an FCS school (Maine) last year too.

This may be as bad as Nick Saban losing to LaTech in his first year. Fahr him now Hilltoppers.

Didn’t Pruitt take over a struggling program that went 4-8 the year before and lose his season opener not long ago as well?
Bruh, you didn't even need to go there, are you seriously comparing Central Arkansas against WVU? WVU was a top 25 team heading into the season last year with a QB that threw for over 3800+ yds and 30+ TD's and who has always had TN number? I get the struggling team comparison but should have let the home opener comparison be, undermines credibility in your argument.

After rewatching the Kentucky game it was painfully obvious Pruitt and Helton wouldn’t last

I believe he played a role in the season ending like it did

Helton may not have been the right guy for the job at UT but Pruitt knew he was a spread/air raid coach and tried to force the prostyle offense before he has the horses to do so. I’m “pro Pruitt” but its Like blaming the tail of a snake, when the head is what bit you.

At some point, a really good OC or DC adjusts to his personnel. I know an OC may have some "core philosophies," but use what you have. He could have used the Air Raid short passing attack against UF last year but ran the ball some 24+ times on first down. Different philosophies don't excuse poor performances.

Bruh, you didn't even need to go there. Are you seriously comparing UT to WKU? One team beat two top 25 teams, the other team didn't come close to beating a team in the top 75? Apples and oranges and you wanna call someone out on it. Game one, season one...get over yourself.

Weren't we told last year that our own new, 1st time head coach couldn't be expected to find any measure of progress or success with Butch-recruited players?

I get it though, it's different for Helton cause not our coach and reasons.

Have you not seen TN play the last decade, yeah I am comparing TN to WKU. Are they both not FBS programs? Central Arkansas is an FCS school. So is it really apples to oranges? Stop being so triggered and take a sedative.

Way to skirt your post, project onto me while still comparing apples to oranges.
When has WKU ever been compared to a top tiered program....ever. We were talking year one game one. Keep up.

I feel like this gives us a better understanding of what went wrong with our offense last year, but I’m not sure how.
I'm not defending him by no means but it sounds like offense wasn't the problem. They scored 28 points. In most cases that should be good enough to win.
