I’ve always felt sports were supposed to be about representing your home and community. Funny how the money worshipers seem to blur those lines until they no longer exist. How many of you guys remember that complaint back in the mid 2000’s? Long before NIL and portal, a lot of us thought they didn’t give their all for Tennessee. The consensus was that most of the players were not in state and if we recruited more instate players they would play harder and we would win more.
I remember that, but many of our greatest VFLs have been from out of state. Sort of correlates to the fact that most of our best players have been from out of stateHow many of you guys remember that complaint back in the mid 2000’s? I am not one to pry into the hearts of people I do not know, because assuming another person’s intent is rarely in good taste. Still, it is fair to question why anyone would hold deep loyalty and passion for a system that prevented them from caring for themselves and those around them, despite their God given talent. For nearly a century, the NCAA refused to allow athletes to earn money from their own name, image, and identity. That reality should not be ignored.Use to be a lot more heart and loyalty in the players. It has changed so much it hardly resembles itself.
and someone continues to complain about it 1000 different ways. Just scroll on dawgView attachment 799318My apologies but we’ve seen this exact statement said 1000 different ways
John cougar or John cougar Melloncamp? He shortened his name but I can’t remember when. I like me some Heart tho!!Damn! I opened this thread hoping it was about the band. I see others have beat he to the punch.
One of the great concerts I often forget I went to was Heart's 1982 show with John Cougar opening.
