HatVol...

I'd have voted Adai for MVP.

I would have had to look very hard at a defensive guy. In a game where the offense turned it over 3 times, where the kicker intentionally gave the Bears good field position to keep it away from Hester, and the defense gave up only 10 points and scored a touchdown, there should be strong consideration for giving the MVP to someone on that side of the ball.

Manning had a good game with 25-38, 247, 1, 1, and is a decent choice for MVP, but I would have to consider Kevin Hayden (4 tackles, 1 int, TD,) or Bob Sanders (3 tackles, 1 int, forced fumble.) Neither stat line blows you away, but they both were extremely important and would recognize the great game by the defense.

B.J. Coleman:dance2:

First, if you guys are going to have a quarterback named "B.J.," I expect never to hear another syllable out of your collective mouths about Tebow's name.

Second, Coleman is ranked as the 16th best QB out there by scout.com. Florida has commitments from # 7 Brantley and # 13 Newton.

After all the media frenzy about PM winning the big one prior to the game, the only way he doesn't get it as if they had lost. I think the whole Dfense deserved MVP as much as PM did.Amazing turn around from the regular season...do you suppose PM talked Al Wilson into giving them all a pep talk?

bob sanders and Rhodes were probably a more realistic choice.....either one of them would have been fine. but i have no problem with Manning getting it...just a little surprised based on how the game played out.

You are not going to bait me into this. I fell for it last night. But today, in the cold light of another Central Florida gloomy overcast morning, you are not going to get me to tie either the University of Florida to Grossman or UT to Manning.

Newsflash: They don't play there anymore.
Thank you. I bleed orange, but PEYTON MANNING IS NO LONGER ON THE UT ROSTER! What really gets me is the amount of Titans fans who root for Manning and the colts......they are the Titans biggest rival!?!? I like to see former UT players succeed in the NFL but I think we go overboard with this whole Manning lovefest sometimes.

I admit to feeling a tinge of pride when a Gator alum has a big game or play in the NFL. But it lasts for about 3 seconds.

Really a tough choice - it's cliche but this really was a team win. They adjusted to what the Bears were doing on both sides of the ball and made the plays necessary.

I was thinking Addai was a good choice. PM gets the nod I think giving his role in choosing the offense, making the correct reads and executing. Given the horrible conditions, his stats are pretty impressive (66% with at least 3 drops).

It would have been appropriate to give it to the whole team but I guess that's not allowed.

Manning does a lot for UT and is a great QB, but him finaly winning a big one last night isn't going to add any SEC championships to UT's resume'

The idiot recuiting services also had him @ 6'4" and 180lbs until recently. He did'nt participate in the camp circuit until UT's after his junior year. I'm saying he's a very bright, strong, FAST kid that played in a system that did'nt highlight his abilities and he role models Peyton and wants to be coached by Cutcliff. I did'nt think we were comparing recruits, but if Manning and being coached by Cut influence decisions and will that affect increase. Recruiting services routinely miss for the good and bad....Cutcliff saw him @ ONE camp and offered on the spot. And yes, I value his opinion more than freaking Rivals.

i don't think anyone has any delusions that this directly, tangibly affects TN football. it's more or less one of your own doing good and being happy about it. and it just so happens it's one of the most celebrated players in school history.

I felt last night a lot like i did when the packers won with Reggie White or when Jamal Lewis got one with the Ravens. "good for him" kind of thing. and it doesn't hurt that TN got some pub out of it as well.

Honest question. How did they do in their All-Star games? I know B.J. played well but I didn't pay any attention to those two guys. :hi:

I understand your point, and like I said I always enjoy seeing former vols succeed. I guess my real beef is hearing titans fans all over the place rooting for the colts like they are UT north just because PM plays for them.

Just shows the power of Peyton. The Titans should have picked Cutler if they wanted that effect. If the Titans want major fan support outside of Nashville they should consider that. I have NOTHING in common with that business. I am born and raised on Tn football and generally don't like the pro game, but that's just it.....Manning transcends the game....unlike thugs that talk about themselves in third person. PM is the kid next door you watched grow up and he makes you proud. This ain't Philly man and people generally can't help who they are fans of....if that were the case I'd be a Florida fan right now.....so lighten up Frances:)

I have no idea who you are reffering to when speaking of "thugs that talk about themselves in the third person" or Philly. If you are not a fan of the pro game and root for PM, fine....I was reffering to Titans fans who root for the Titans biggest rival because of PM. I don't know what planet your on right now but Vince Young will bring a lot more fan support from outside of Nashville than Cutler could dream of. It is not like Vanderbilt has some huge national following, and as far as in state support outside of Nashville Cutler is from Indiana so I don't really understand where your coming from with all of this.

oh, i understand. i rooted against him and the colts last year when they played the Steelers in the playoffs last year. your team is still your team and that should take precedence imo...

but since no Steelers this year, it was easy for me to root for them because of peyton.

and the only defense i would throw Titan fans way is that those same titan fans that rooted for the colts last night were probably TN fans long before the titans ever even came to Nashville. their allegiences to the titans came around AFTER peyton left UT. and that's probably why they rooted for them last night.

Now, if they claim to be titan fans but rooted for the colts against the titans, then i question that. if the titans and colts played each other in the playoffs for a chance at the SB....i think if you are a titan fan, you're a titan fan and would root that way....but since no titans, go colts.

and i have no problem with that.

I'm a Titans fan, and I was happy to see Peyton (and Dungy) win the Super Bowl. I didn't go out and buy any Colts gear or anything and I wouldn't have been devastated if they had lost, but I'm still happy for'em. Don't like the Colts, for the reasons you've mentioned however. It's the Colts fans that popped up when Peyton and the Colts started doing well that rub me the wrong way.

If you "bleed orange", you would take more pride than that when a UT player does well. I think you like orange, when we win, but are probably one of those who want to fire all the coaches after every loss. If a two tone Oilers fan roots for Peyton, he/she probably have a previous link to UT, i.e. attended UT or grew up a Vol fan before the Nashville Oilers got here.

There are certain Vols, like Leonard Little and Albert Haynesworth that I refuse to cheer for, but those are for obvious reasons. Peyton has been nothing but a great ambassador for UT. If you don't like it, get over it. The Nashville Oilers are second fiddle and always will be. Anyone who wears one of those ugly, two-tone jerseys either doesn't own a mirror, doesn't know mirrors exist, is blind, has no taste in football, or has no self respect.

Go cheer for "Miranda Rights" Jones and wash your Betty George jersey you 2nd rate team lover.

Peyton is the most recognizable player, for his college he attended, than ANY other football player in the league right now. Playas know Peyton wore orange. No one cares Brady wore garnet and gold.

Isn't Garnet like So. Carolina's reddish color? Brady went to Michigan
