Harrison Bailey, thy time is now….

Because if he could run the offense efficiently at the speed Heupel requires, then he wouldn’t be 3rd string.

I’m not being completely serious here. I’m just having fun with the Bailey supporters.

Look, I don’t know all the reasons Bailey has not played, but the only logical explanation is that he is having trouble running the offense at the tempo that Heupel requires. I don’t but into ego conspiracies. Heupel isn’t Pruitt.
I think you're making a big assumption on tempo - I think it's a much larger reason he's currently 3rd string and more likely due to running ability.

We know exactly what Milton is. He's shown what he is at Michigan and then repeatedly here. Even without the fan/trash incident, the way he ended our game is being put on blast for just how... utterly Tennessee football it was. Complete lack of awareness.

And he'll still get 1st String reps over Bailey. A guy that Heupel seems to think sucks even after he did everything right in the Spring Game and got like 6 passes late off the bench.

Bailey won't get a shot to prove anything. He'll transfer out, likely to a rival, and light us up. That's the Tennessee way.

He was a playing against walk ons in the spring game.

Because he wants to red shirt him. Also, no way we are winning against Bama or Ga this year so might as well play Milton as much as he sucks. I think Bailey can play in 3more games this year. Best make it good ones

This makes the most sense. I dunno why everyone is so eager to waste Bailey tossing him to the wolves Alabama and Georgia. If he was so head and shoulders better than Milton the guy would be in there already. He hasn't earned the spot. It's like people don't remember it's normal for freshmen and sophomores QB's to ride the bench until they're ready. These freshmen starting at Alabama or Trevor Lawrence when he was at Clemson are not normal talents and we can't draw talent like that here yet.

Sure thing, Guy.
Or you could have just told him what you heard in the same amount of time it took you to be a Richard.
It's not what he said because he didn't really say anything but "you want to get it to the endzone". That's why I said SEE Heupel. Thats why you have to WATCH. Not sure why that's difficult to understand why I said that.
A mom joke..

You have zero room to talk about stale jokes.
Yes... exactly. That was the point of me using a mom joke. I was intentionally being ironic.

After I posted my response, I considered that being the case, but I thought you were smarter than that.

Exactly. No point getting HB chewed up in unwinnable games unless we literally have no one else to put in. Bailey has the pedigree and history to be a serviceable SEC QB. Like 90% of other 4* QBs though, he needs time to grow into it and in most other programs who are deep benched with talent, they dont start till the Jr year except for true freaks of nature. Bailey needs another year under Huepel to put it all together and see if the lights come on. Meanwhile, hopefully we can build a better pocket for him. With the right RBs and a decent Oline, I think HB can work for Huepel, even as a pocket passer if he can learn to run the game fast and well with accurate passes.

Dude it's not what he SAID. He said like 1 sentence. Holy smokes friend. Go WATCH him. SEE him. Cast your eyes upon his countenance and body language lol. He doesn't say anything special.

That doesn't make a lick of sense. Let me get this right. So being oblivious to the fact I was using an old joke would've been smarter? Lol fun back and forth with you 2 but I gotta get to bed. Yall think we have a shot at Bama if hooker plays? I think they cover and keep a pace behind them that's within reach but not a major threat.

I took a page outta your book. Thought you'd pick up on it.

Without Hooker I don't have any hope to beat them. With Hooker, Cooper bros and Evans I think we lose but at least had a chance. I'm just happy this year seeing us finish.

Go to bed.

Bailey may be thinking or has been thinking for a while that the time IS now- to enter the transfer protocol sometime in the near future

Don’t have to. He’s the 3rd string QB behind Milton.

So Hooker > Milton > Bailey

Bailey must really frikkin’ suck that we are in week 8 and he still can’t beat out Milton.

Seriously, Bailey can’t run the offense at the tempo required. If you want Bailey as your QB, then just bring back Gump as well because that’s the kind of offense required to apparently fit his skill set.

And you know this how? Have you attended practice? His only time in the game was with the 2nd and 3rd strings. All I'm asking is give the kid a shot. Also he a much better decision maker as we saw Milton on the last drive of the game. Why Milton didn't fire the ball eludes me. No excuse can be made. If anyone wants him running our offense after that then pick a football book for dummies.

Next opponent is Bama. 2/3 of the OL is down or sorely limited. Bailey hasn't had more than a handfull of reps. WTH would you toss him into that fire storm and a sure loss? Nope. Milton is my qb next Saturday. Rest Hooker. Get Bailey practice reps then see which one is the better option come KY.
and Milton throws 2 interceptions and fumbles twice

I'm not sure he wants to red shirt him. Probably just TN fans thinking more than anything.
Hooker comes back next year, Jackson comes in so that gives him a year under CJH. So Jackson year two if he's good could be starting. There are other programs that are starting Freshman or 2yr guys so it's not a stretch.
You also have got to have some QB's that's looking at TN for a possible transfer that are thinking that team is short on talent and still looking good, I think I can get me spot. May or may not can beat Hooker but feel they can beat Joe for the #2 spot and if Hooker goes down and they shine they could finish the year and start the next year as QB1. If that happens then Jackson has two years learning and likely starting his year 3. If Bailey was balling out in practice. I'd think CJH would be wanting to use him and get those wins in year 1

I don't really like early commits because things can change but think there is already a class of 23 QB committed.
This off season will answer the HB question IMO

IMHO no he wasn't right. HB has a cannon and can extend plays with his legs but has stayed behind and running with the 2's and 3's because he isn't as mobile according to the staff.

This kid wants to be a Vol so give him a chance. Otherwise he would have already transferred out. I want this kid on my team.

If Hooker can’t go Saturday and it’s between Run Outta Bounds/Overthrow Joe or Bailey, Bailey probably doesn’t want to play. He likely wants to redshirt so he’ll have more eligibility for the school he’ll transfer to after this season. Let the guy that ran out of bounds with no time on the clock get beat to hell by Bama. You know, the Tarzan that said he can do it all in an interview yet can’t do anything but play like Jane.

Like Hooker? Not the best argument considering we had a Ferrari on the pine to start the year, and chose the Ford Pinto instead.

The reason that Harrison Bailey is not playing and cannot beat out Hooker and Milton is because HB does not have the arm strength required to successfully run this offense. In our offense, we split the receivers on each side so wide on all our formations that you have to have good arm strength to get the ball out wide to the receivers. If you don't have a cannon of an arm, you will be tossing a lot of interceptions.

Milton will be the starter if Hooker is out. If you haven't realized that's Heupel's order, you aren't paying attention.

The question is, if it goes badly for Milton, which seems likely, when and if will Bailey get a shot.

I guess we will find out, but Bailey coming in down multiple scores against a still angry bammer D doesn't seem like a great opportunity for him to me.
