Harrison Bailey hinting at coming back perhaps?

I don't dislike him. I don't like the way he left... but he made a choice.

That said, in spite of what his supporters here thought, no one seems to be clamoring for his services. He may want to come back... but there may not be a seat for him. Strategically, it would be foolish to waste a spot on a guy that you may have already recruited over and almost without a doubt will next class.

If there were a formal announcement that he is returning? I might buy it. He is not coming back to be a third stringer again. I think there is a greater chance Garth Brooks becomes an opera star.
I haven't heard of him having lots of great options. He may have jumped out of the boat a little too quick... and may not have a way back in.

That would be brutal.

"I think we should see other people."

[Everyone else ignores you.]

"Hey, so I was thinking we should get married!"

(I think it's probably more likely that he got an offer from someone and feels good about next year.)

I'd like to have him back (we need depth at QB), but given that he left during the season, I don't see it happening.

He does seem to be struggling to find a transfer location. Georgia Tech was interested, but they already have another transfer, so I think they passed on Bailey. Grass isn't always greener.
The most honest part of recruiting is silent honesty. "If they aren't calling, they don't want you."

I like the kid and he deserves to have a few options, but he also is a dime a dozen QB and fell victim to better options.

Maybe after the Finley performance in the Bham Bowl Bailey thinks Auburn might be a possibility?

I've not even glanced at the portal options for QB since Rattler found a home but I imagine Harsin is checking it daily.

Honestly, he should go to PSU. They are short on QBs, has a clear path to compete for starting nod, if not then go to a non-P5 school where he can get better stats. Not sure who was interested in him right now, but there are still quite a few schools with lesser QBs out there. I can't see him coming back here now after leaving mid-season.

Not every kid that enters the portal gets a new team. If this continues, a strong narrative against the portal will develop unless you are a key contributor.

I don't think it was the case with HB but many players are likely being told to leave and that they won't have a scholarship with their current program. The one year penalty against the player made that more difficult for programs in the past. The portal made it a near necessity to move players out who can't help you.

Bailey's best shot to make the NFL could be to land somewhere like North Dakota State.

So far... no one seems to think of him as the greater option. At least not in P-5.

He doesn't seem like a Franklin type of guy... but maybe they could make it work. Franklin likes his QB's to be more mobile than HB though.

Have y’all ever seen Bailey laughing with teammates or strongly encouraging teammates? Have you ever seen him use social media to praise his teammates? Why was he so silent during the post-Pruitt exodus while Taylor and many others were re-affirming their commitment to UT? Why quit mid season?

He comes across to me as a guy who is very classy about being about himself and as a guy who has little influence with his teammates.

I mean I’m shocked that he hasn’t found a spot on a playoff caliber team yet. Given how many were saying he would be beating our brains out with Georgia for the rest of his college career.

All kidding aside I hope he finds a good situation where he can be happy. His “fans” sometimes make it hard to pull for him.
Yeah I have no ill will toward the kid, but his fans were worse than Ferguson fanboys and almost as insufferable as the BJ Coleman fan club.

Not enough grit to play at a place like PSU. Needs a place like Vanderbilt, but outside the SEC. Maybe Duke or some place uppity like that.

I think a lot of players have greatly overestimated the desire for their services and the number of kids languishing in the portal reflects this.

Spend more time developing QB skills instead of putting up a God-awful website and fan club should be the first order of business. I hope he didn't pay anyone for that mess.

A couple minutes ago this was shared on his social media accounts. Just speculation on my part, but thought it definitely left room for it being a possibility.

He might know something that we don`t. I have a hard time thinking that Milton is content on riding the pine if he wants to play on Sunday. I wonder if there will be a position change for Milton. If so maybe he thinks he would move up to #2 on the depth chart. And have a better chance of getting on the field if Hooker were to get injured. But I don't know. Maybe he does know where he is going.

He already quit the team during the season. I hold no ill will towards him and wish him the best of luck, but that would be a mistake on both ends.

Should that not get him in the running for the Steve Spurrier Award?

Pretty sure Milton can't transfer again without sitting a year or getting an NCAA waver. He used his "one time without sitting" transfer to get to UT.

I might be wrong because the transfer rules are as solid as baby food but I don't think we've reached the point where all transfers are "immediate" yet.

Milton isn't likely to change positions (he appears to have issues with hard contact) and I'm skeptical he'd want to transfer and sit out.

Help me on this:
If a player declares for the transfer portal but doesn’t receive any offers or chooses not to accept any offers, the player is technically able to return to his original team?
What if the original team does not want the player back? What happens then?

Yes, the player technically CAN return but it's unlikely they will be accepted. Do you want a guy back who clearly wanted to leave?

It's the team's discretion to "re-offer" to the player but it's essentially like going back to your ex......a situation that didn't work once and probably won't work the second time.

See, there's plenty of room for that ship to turn around and sail back this way. HB back in Knoxvegas in 22!
