Gun control debate (merged)

See, perfect example of how dumb you can be.

When you join the military you give up a lot of your rights. This is common knowledge.
Why would you need to give up rights when you join the military?
We all know the answer and the logical extension, but it's okay if we continue to pretend as if we do not.

Yep, it's a complete lack of faith in the Dems as a whole. Same thing happened with Obama in office.
Dems obviously can't do it by themselves or it would have already been done.
It must be a lack of faith in repubs also, or maybe they are just stupid.

But it seems as if every time gun regulation has ever been discussed, gun nuts go on a buying frenzy.

Kind of hard to pin it on Biden and this congress.

There’s already regulation. You have to have an ID, pass a background check, and be there in person. Unlike something else you want less regulation on.

This regulations would lead to empty shelves. All being empty. Forever. And further, people wanting stuff on shelves would be criminals at worst and outcasts at best. But I guess that's the unity you want.
Luther‘s dream is to make us a socialist utopia like the CCCP. And based on my post Joe shopping trips, I think we are well on our way

Which rights do you give of up? You can own guns in the military, vote, etc. Again you know nothing about it only what some dumbass lib on CNN spewed.

The only one you really give up is the right to free speech on politics whilst wearing the uniform.

You give up free speech, you give up the right to bear arms, you give up the protection of unreasonable search and seizures. Now most all of this is predicated to being on base.

Well technically you are government property and you voluntarily gave up certain rights when you signed up. Of course we could own guns when I was in the army they just had to keep them in the company armory and sign them in and out.

Ok, Luther good talk. Go on back to Luther land.
Never left.
It's obvious that in order for a group to function properly and efficiently, individual rights often become secondary.
The question is, when does the success of the group become critical enough to justify sacrificing some degree of individual rights? You find the military to be the perfect example. I think there are many examples.

I don't know, remember I'm supposedly the dumba$$ here.
Hogg claims it's common knowledge. You seem to be saying no rights are given up. Weren't you both in the military?
We may need to rethink this dumba$$ thing.

Got no response on this one.
Guns are more heavily regulated and controlled on a marine base and than in the general public.....Curious.
You have clearly never met a marine. Or seen their history with civilians

As someone whose gun range is also a police training range, let's just say trained may not mean much.

Also there are still shootings on military bases, so clearly taking guns away doesnt work.

And I care about your opinion even less than you care about mine.
The point is, when a strong anti gun regulation stance makes you unelectable, you will see politicians fleeing from the anti gun regulation stance. We are moving there ever so slowly.
Lol no we won’t. You are in the vast minority and there is no way you will ever get what you want

You have rights. You have free speech but the consequences for that speech has more adverse consequences than the average citizen. If one of your employees calls you a dumabss you can fire them and that’s it. If a person that is in the military calls one of their superiors a dumbass they will face disciplinary action but they aren’t going anywhere. If you live on base, especially the barracks, your areas can be inspected and searched.

Why is that?
The people risking their lives to protect our freedoms deserve fewer freedoms themselves?

You probably don’t want to go there with their 18 and kill everyone , but you can’t drink because your mind isn’t capable of handling it yet policy. This is a losing topic for you .

The military is voluntary - in joining you willingly surrender some rights.

Because those dog tags say the government owns your ass unlike civilians where I can tell these guys around here walking around with all the chest candy to go **** themselves without any fear .
