Not exactly bolstering the gun control argument. "Assault rifle" is just a code word for gun that I'm afraid of.To quote Jim Jefferies:

It's OK to not like guns or be afraid of guns . . . but don't start talking in terms of curbing the Bill of Rights because you just don't understand or relate. This is like advocating for removal of the 1st amendment because protests are scary. Or being against the 4th amendment because you think the cops are always right.
