Yeah, going back to my first post I'm curious what comes out in the details regarding this incident. Other than "something went bad wrong somehow" we're pretty lean on hard info at this point.

Yeah I agree. I dont think this was intentional at all. And I may have responded differently if it wasnt Alec. He has been very vocal in his stance on guns, and blaming dumb rednecks for all shootings. And that's why my first post was questioning the knowledge of guns around this, and how personal opinions on guns influenced that knowledge and directly/indirectly lead to this terrible situation.

I had speculated it was an auto incident but Slice just said it was a revolver so my guess now is one discharge.

It's a western movie, so I doubt it was anything close to a modern style .

An actor back in the 80’s was killed by using a “safe” gun by shooting himself in the temple. The pressure from the blank wad alone was enough to kill him at point blank range.

Even skilled firearm users are suspect. Terry Kath of Chicago is a well known example.

Oh wow, never heard of that. I'm not sure what is going on elsewhere but I am SUPER careful around guns, hell even fake ones and bb guns. How this happened after Brandon is crazy.

Just for reference , you should watch Keanu Reeves and his firearm trading for all the John wick movies , the produced bringing in the best of the best to teach them what they should know and do at all times and how he responses to that superb tracing routine . On a side note , of all the John wick movies I have read of a si for accident involving any type of firearm .

I'm not familiar with prop guns but blanks have primers in them so I'm assuming the gun would have to be fully capable of firing a round.

Probably had an obstruction in the barrel (the wading from a blank) pulled the trigger on second round and over pressurized causing it to essentially blow up.

A catastrophic failure like that could occur I suppose. I'm not a blank expert but I wouldn't have thought a pistol blank would carry that kind of charge. Of course, being a prop gun I can't speak to it's integrity either.
