Gun control debate (merged)

No my logic is beautifully solid. That’s the scary part for you gun grabbers and why you use the ridiculous examples. Either you can own a gun or you can’t. If you can then who the hell is the government or any other individual to impose limits on you. If you want a fully automatic firearm (<-comes with a very specific legal definition) then you should be allowed to own it. It’s your own damn business and nobody elses. Equality thru superior firepower! Arm all law abiding citizens with fully automatic weapons if they desire to own one.

Well, not fully auto, but still...

Proposed bill would require MO residents to own an AR-15

I think this is just as bad as removing the right to own a gun.

I don't really think it was a "serious" bill. Forcing people to spend their own money for the purchases is the dead giveaway. Haven't read on the impetus for putting it out there. Maybe to counter how requiring the purchase of a weapon for 2A purposes is just as silly as thinking requiring insurance (just another personal OOP expense) is OK for practicing an enumerated right? IDK.

waste of time while they should be addressing real issues. its crap like this that keeps us from fixing anything in this nation.

Eh, there's something to be said for that notion. In truth though there's not too much waste in "proposing" anything. If such a thing was seriously set forth and expected to be argued and the whole rigmarole then absolutely a waste of time and effort.

but it creates an unnecessary divide, or more than likely forces the politicians to follow the party line, no matter their thoughts.

meh.

This is similar to the states that have legalized marijuana. I wonder how the NFA would be affected by this law in Missouri?
It’s nullified. It will make enforcement of current gun laws in surrounding states next to impossible to enforce. This could be a death blow to gun control on the federal level, for good.

Lol! If the state of Missouri chooses to do so they can now allow the manufacture and sale to the public of fully automatic weapons again! LMFAO this is hilarious!

This is exactly what I was ranting on a couple of pages back! Repeal of NFA1934 and GCA1968! 😂

Yes, they just won't be able to ship anything out of state.
