Online radicalization works for American racists as much as it does Islamic terrorists. Many do have the seeds planted at home, but there are some who come to their racism later in life.
You are delusional.
We have to start drawing some sensible lines on gun possession when it comes to the mentally ill.
If I were on the jury, no way I convict @Orangeslice13.
Nobody on your side seemed to care about someone shooting up a a school bus full of kids. I'll give you that thankfully nobody got killed, bit not one of you even mentioned it. Why? I'm sincerely confused why you, LG, EL and the crew only ever post, or comment, if it's a white shooter, ever. It's all bad, but you ignore daily stories, and then pounce on these like they matter more . Why?
We talk about how people are influenced outside the home about other things so I don't think this is any different. I think you do look at the parents first to rule them out if anything. I agree online radicalism of any form can take please without a balanced real world life experience to counter it. Mental health can start to be impacted but I hope this guy doesn't get away with a mental health defense. The mental health defense doesn't seem to be working as much anymore in these mass shootings which is a good thing.
The Texas shooting was at a flea market and only the people involved were hit from what I understand. Multiple shooters shooting at each other. The church shoot was Kalifornia so I’d guess they didn’t have the option of returning fire as Texans do?Would you agree that there is a difference, although both events are horrific, between 10 dead in one case and none dead in the other? Quit trying to make this about whites not getting treated as well. That's just not the case. Sandy Hook was overwhelmingly white and it got plenty of coverage.
Seeing there is another mass shooting in Texas today. I thought the whole idea of allowing free carry of firearms was that the good guys would stop the bad guys. Only time I've seen that was a church shooting in Texas.
I would love to see all the mass shooter data be put in a linear regression model so we can ferret out the most common underlying cause.
Columbine was caused by kids whose parents had their heads in the sand and missed all sorts of warning signs. Sandy Hook's shooter was a known troubled individual who knew family members who didn't secure their firearms.
I believe there are ways to drastically cut down on gun related violence without infringing on individuals' Second Amendment rights. We just have to be willing to face what the research shows and have the strength to address the causes.
I don't know what the research will show or what causes we'll need to address, I just know it will result in more complaining.
Are people ignoring the warning signs or saying oh he really didn't mean it when he said he would shoot up the place? Are these loners with struggling social lives? What are the similarities that intersect as you mention? Do psychological exams need to become as regular as annual physicals? It would probably take 30 minutes for a good psychologist to see signs of trouble that require follow-up.

If you had to speculate -I would love to see all the mass shooter data be put in a linear regression model so we can ferret out the most common underlying cause.

Yeah, I've seen 2 or more classified as a mass shooting and some only classify a mass shooting as 4 or 6. And then some only count deaths and some count deaths and injuries.I don’t think there is any clear definition. I wasn’t joking in the NPR claim they state 198 mass shootings already this year. I think it was over 600 last year. That’s clearly stoopid.
