As a fellow and proud alum, think about that post. Did you play football at UT? I did not.

But, at age 58, I can tell you that there is usually a whole lot more to the story than the story I hear.

The villain here is Nico’s dad. It’s not Nico.
This story would be a good episode of the TV show "American Greed"

Give Josh credit for cutting ties with prima donna families - both Nico and Boo.

Also for attracting high quality transfers like Joey who may be a Heisman candidate in 2026 if his waiver is successful. Would like to see Joey outduel Pavia on Saturday.

Nico really flopped into a poor situation at UCLA - his little brother is caught in that mess also. Well the next coach will have to decide if he needs to retain the Iamaleava troop or to ride with Duncan the young qb who is splitting time with Nico now. Nico was "homesick" after spending two seasons in Knoxville and I bet his 2025 season seems like 5 years.

Personally I don’t wish any bad on Nico. I didn’t like him. I thought he was a pampered and overrated QB and I’m glad he left. He and his dad were a cancer at UT but I hope he learned a valuable lesson and continues to better his attitude and obtains a more realistic perception of himself. He’s not all that as he thought he and his dad thought.

We would have a similar record as we do now .

Joey had more passing yards and better QBR than Nico did as RSFr, but Nico kept the offense on the field longer.
We don't lose that Oklahoma game if Nico was at QB.

We probably get beaten by UGA by more than FG
Lose to Alabama maybe?
Lose to Arkansas at home. Because their offense was clicking all of a sudden.

Nico threw for 19 TDs. Joey has 23.
Nico threw 5 INTs. Joey has thrown 10.
Nico also ran for 11 1st down for Tennessee last season that kept drives alive, and led us to winning games. Joey did everything he could to beat UGA but we lost anyway.

NIco led us to the playoffs. Joey will not this season at least this season.

So far their scoring isn't all that disimaler individually. Nico in 13 games vs Joey with 11.

His father screwed him. You all are complaining about that for this one season. Nico has to live with that fact for the rest of his life....
That's tough. Have a little perspective on ANYTHING for once.
That’s where you wrong Nico feasted on lesser opponents- Joey has yet to be held under 200 yds passing. If our skill guys caught the perfectly placed passes Joey easily and I mean easily has 30+ tds already.

No one’s obsessing. Just enjoying his failures when they happen.

It’s kind of like seeing the girlfriend that cheated on you in high school at the local dollar general when you needed milk but couldn’t stomach going to Walmart to get it. You witness her with 4 kids on her hip, brandishing that American flag EBT card for a cart full of little Debbie’s, and hopping into her 1989 Toyota Tercel that she can hardly fit in.

You are definitely over her, but still can’t help but giggle at her decisions and what they led to on your drive home.
I get that, I do. Like the last one I dated. She was a cheater and a user. I used to work in retail, and it was great watching her the last few times she'd come in to shop while I was working. She is now heavier, slovenly, and always looks miserable. I am over her, don't get me wrong. I'd never take her back. But I just could not help but smile seeing her look so miserable.

We probably lose to MSU and Arky with him at the helm. We are at least 6-5 going into Vandy scared shartless right now.
Not only do we lose those games, but we have absolutely no chance against UGA and the UK game is probably a nailbiter (that we'd probably still win because it's UK, but still). There is not a single result this year that would be better with Nico.
