This has always been our weakness. Dobbs threat to pull the ball and run on the read option is the only thing that has masked it.
When we don't utilize the threat of the run like last week, then our o-line gets exposed.
The most humorous thing in all this is the people that want Dormady inserted. I guess they have little regard for that kids well-being if they want him to play behind this o-line without amazing scrambling abilities.
no what hurts is we need a dual threat QB who can pass and not just run, the defense can pin it's ears back after Dobbs, he makes bad decisions when you blitz himThis has always been our weakness. Dobbs threat to pull the ball and run on the read option is the only thing that has masked it.

I'm glad Iceman had an arm, guts and smarts. His feet looked like he was running with snow skis on.
I'm not worried. I'm betting the house that this oline comes out with hot fire in their eyes and a bee in their knickers. VT's run defense is suspect at best. Hurd should get 130+.
Haha. Good analogy.
I thought he looked like he was a marionette or something when he ran....just couldn't see the puppet master strings.
It was like his legs were made of wood and were liable to break/splinter with each step he took. Just no way he could break 3 minutes in the 40. Great QB though.

I really don't get how people think Hall coming back will automatically make our OL much better.
He was good last year, but he wasn't great by any means. His presence alone won't fix our OL.
I have to agree with a lot of this.
Average fans were saying this during the game, after the game, the next day on threads and several after.
And that's by no means a shot at McElroy, he's just doing his job. But it's not exactly applause worthy either.
Didn't exactly take footage a week later to know why the toilet was overflowing, pretty sure everybody knows the issue. Now we just better hope we find a good plumber.
I think the point is, folks who truly know football are pointing it out as well. So it's more than just VN being "nega-Vols" as the blind homers want to say.
