Not in the traditional sense such as leading up to WWII but we are weakening alliances and relationships with trading partners. Also, by dialing back the soft power that was started in the 60s our influence is waning. Bullying and coercion won’t sustain our historical standing. Constantly flipping tariff / no tariff and imperialism doesn’t lead to trust. Less trust leads to isolation.

Europe: We don't need the US Greenland is not for sale

NATO: If you try to take Greenland you are kicked out of NATO

Trump: Ok kick us and our 5% out of NATO and the US will take Greenland because your 2 sleds can't stop me.

Europe and NATO: Greenland is not for sale but the US can use Greenland for what you need.

In fact the existing agreement looks pretty freaking flexible. Thus just like Venezuela it looks more and more like a (attempted thus far) resource grab.

Thanks for confirming it’s a resource grab with no additional flexibility added enabling a stronger defense of Greenland.

Nothing in the existing treaty prohibits the establishment of Golden Dome. Which is largely a space based system like Reagan’s Star Wars was anyway.

It’s a resource protection imo. China cannot buy it if the US has the first right of refusal. It ensures that if anyone gets it it’ll be the good guys

To the people of Greenland: Who would you rather run your country, Russia, China, or the USA? In my opinion there's no question. It's the country that gives me the most freedom.

I think Trump is saying we will get out of the way and its up to those regions to figure it out, but realistically Europe is dead man walking so that leaves Russia as the major party who in theory control the region.

Nobody in Europe has to trust, but at the end of the day Europe is in big trouble, they're one big welfare state with no resources.

Give europe 5 years to build up and organize their militaries, and they'll be fine. Russia cant even win in ukraine at the moment, so they wont be challenging for anything until they can get that figured out (with elon's robot legions).

Oh yes they do. Well Denmark has sovereignty over Greenland and they will retain it. In fact it was even stated in your first reply to me that they will retain that sovereignty in any deal. Again was your president lying?
