It’s smart for Denmark to include forces from other NATO members. Taking Greenland militarily could risk confrontation with other NATO forces. That should be a deterrent to Trump, but who knows.
I saw the other day that Trump directed the military to draft invasion plans. I know an invasion is extremely unlikely, but, if you’re Denmark, it’s better to prepare for the worst case outcome than be caught off guard. Denmark is doing the smart thing here IMO.

If Trump attacks Greenland, he is destroying the world order. Make no mistake. NATO would be done. Is this what the moronic Maga folks want?Off guard or on guard, the most Denmark could do is put up a speedbump and get a lot of their people killed. But in any case, we're not invading Greenland.

4. Trump wrote that U.S. control of Greenland is “unacceptable” to settle for anything less“…one way or the other, we’re gonna have Greenland.”
“And if we don’t do it [via deal], Russia or China will.”

“NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES.”
“Anything less than that is unacceptable.”
This is not an explicit military threat, but it signals pressure and unwillingness to accept diplomatic outcomes short of U.S. control. (Military.com)
“Utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander-in-chief’s disposal.”
This White House statement — tied to Trump’s policy — was widely reported as indicating that military action remains on the table. (The Guardian)
