Gramps final thread

RIP Gramps. Thanks for thinking of us bums. Put in a good word with the big fella for me.

My father, Gramps made me promise him I would make this post for him in the event something should happen to him.
With great sorrow I must report that my dad is no longer with us. He fought a hard battle, in the end the cancer won.
My dad said he did not know anyone on this forum on a personal level but stated he had made some great friends here.
I ask that you please remember Granny and our family in your prayers.

He ask to to sign this post as:
Go Big Orange.
Gramps out.
Cancer sucks. Gramps will be missed.:cray:I didn't know it would even be possible to shed tears for someone you did not know personally. Until today.

I know it's a message board, but I considered Gramps as my very good friend. He will be missed.

Prayers to his family and dear friends.

This hurts.....

I don't know what to say. I saw references in the OT thread and popped in here.

Your father was a great, kind man. Thank you for letting us know.

We've lost a classy fellow here at VN. What a fantastic point of view he had, on everything we talked about.

Rest in peace, good sir, and may your family and friends find their own sense of peace and calmness as they come to grips with their personal loss.

Oh no. He will be missed
A great man and good company. I take comfort that I know he was Saved and has gone on to be with the Lord. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Gramps was a great sport and he loved the Lord. I will miss him for sure.

I will pray for your family and Granny. Hope you guys are doing well, as much as anyone can anyway. God bless you and yours.

Gramps will be missed. He seemed like a man who had a strong moral compass and a lot of conviction. We will all miss his wisdom and his genuine goodness. RIP Gramps!

I am so sorry to hear this.

Thanks for the Sticky....now his family will not have to search to read all the well wishes........

This hits home for me since I lost my mother and only sibling to cancer . My brother, whom I worked with daily and played golf with almost as much, died of colon cancer last year after a 2 year battle. Every time that Gramps disappeared for a couple of days, I got a sick feeling about his health because I knew it could turn bad for him at any time.

I am fighting back tears as I read this, because I know what the family has been facing. Hell, I'm not fighting them back very well. God speed the family and friends. This is tough.

Sorry for your loss

I enjoyed his colorful posts and exchanges. His humor, quick wit, and often salty disposition will be missed

My condolences to you and all of gramps' loved ones and friends

This breaks my heart. Gramps was awesome, and at peace now. Guys I give all you Volnation posters a shoutout. There are disagreements and arguments (I've been involved in a few), but at the end of the day when it comes to things that really matter, you guys are the best. Despite political or religious differences, you take time to show you care for each other. God bless the family of Gramps, and each of you.
