Gramps final thread

I have a tendency to skim through large sections of different discussions that are had in the political forum. I always stopped every time I saw the beagle avatar. His perspective on many things, especially his circumstance with illness, was a great quality of his and one I hope to develop one day. I didn't know him, but I have a lot of respect for him and his contributions here.

RIP Gramps. Undoubtedly, God will bless you.

Still sick feeling after hearing this, but it is a bit comforting to know that he wont suffer another day with cancer.

True, but in rereading his initial post, he said his time was "short."

He got another year plus with his friends and family and got to see another season of the Vols. I know it still took him in the end, but I remember seeing the burger he had and the jokes he passed on. Kind of reminds me of that song "Live like you were dying." Gramps made the most of his time left on this earth and is in a better place now.

Well dang, just got around to seeing this. Heck of a guy, and a voice of reason. See you on the other end buddy.

After making the rounds in this forum today it occurred to me that he was the most level-headed poster. He had his beliefs and always stuck to his guns but I don't remember him "Getting into it" with anyone. We need more people like him.

He'd get into it with you about Fulmer. Trust me on this one

Hope you sought out the General when you got there, Gramps. Good news is you got great seats for all the rest of the Vols games.

RIP

Just now seeing this and it has deeply saddened my heart. Gramps was one of the few posters you could disagree with, but never dislike. If he disagreed about something he would let you know, but rarely (if ever) were there any unkind words shared about others. I obviously did not know him personally, but can only imagine his candle is burning bright in heaven. And I have to think he was doing some heavenly celebrating as he watched "the Canadian" take a beating in the NY primary.

Prayers of love and comfort lifted up for Mrs. Gramps and family as they mourn his loss.

I really hate to hear this. Gramps was one of my favorite posters and he always came off as a truly kind and decent man.

Goodbye and RIP Sir

I've been busy for several few weeks and just now seeing. Can't believe Gramps is gone. Sad, sad news. He was the best at disagreeing without being disagreeable. The kind of person you would want as a neighbor. VN wont be the same without him, especially the politickin' threads. Thank you to Gramps' family for letting us know. So sorry for your loss. Gramps must have been a great family member in real life. His VN family here is sure going to miss him.

It has been nice, I haven't met anyone personally from VN but I do consider I have made some anonymous friends on here.

I thank Freak for creating VN and the hard worh he and the mods do to make VN the best college sports forum in America.

I got a bad report from the doctor this week, if he is correct my time on earth is short. I want to spend the rest of my days with my family and reading my Bible.

I pray that anyone that has not been saved by the grace of God, you will be . that is the most important thing I ever did in my life was turning my life over to God. I realize many of you do not believe in God, I hope that changes.

Take off the red and blue glasses and take a real look at the USA.

Go Vols!!!!

Gramps out.
Good luck, Gramps. You nor any of us have any idea what God has in store or planned for us. Keep on posting--that might just be His job for you for the next....

Ive been so busy and havent been on VN much. Im really sorry I missed his final days in here

God bless you Gramps. Your pain is gone
