Gonna be Pruitt.

Honestly we knew that we were looking at a current DC when it was stated by Matthews that Phil would hire a defensive guy. Lets see he has been on how many NC teams now? I get it everyone was set up by all the insiders that we were hiring some stud up until Currie got in the way. Well guess what fella's we were never going to hire a stud. We were always going to hire a DC. At this point get him in the door with his crew and lets hammer down on recruiting.

We did pass on all those. Taggert made it plain he would only leave for Florida or FSU. Campbell had an impossible buyout. Fuente was never available. Sumlin said right off the bat that he had no interest in UT.
Wilcox is not leaving the west. The rest maybe but don't make it look like we passed on all the others.

I don't buy that defeatist attitude. UT shouldn't take no for an answer from anyone that is a top candidate. Alabama was told, by Saban, that he had no interest. Well, then what happened? They decided enough was enough, and answered the call. UT, however, settles again.

Can Pruitt learn to hate Bammers being a Bammer himself? Gotta hate Bammers to be at Tennessee.:)

You'd think he would hate Phil Fulmer after what they accused him of.:)

sometimes those leaving their old job to a new job that competes with their old job are more fired up to win over their old job

Don't feel inspired to take on Mullen and Kirby every year. Feel like we're setting the ceiling at 10-3.

So be it, I'm on board until his Dooley/Kentucky moment.
Also, tired of crap Defense. Hope it's Pruitt.

Kirby was left with a team loaded with talent from Richt. Let's see what he does when all those seniors graduate this year. Next year will tell the tale for him - though he will get a break due to the success this year.

Sorry you don't really know about the team but they had talent in a lot of positions but no real depth. The UGA 2013 recruiting class set them back bad. Yes, I know .. "31 seniors" but the majority of those weren't contributors. But back to back top 5 recruiting classes sure fix that quickly. Losing guys like Chubb and Michel is really bad until you realize that they are VERY deep at that spot and have two more studs coming in.

I am fine with Pruitt Hire, Why not, If Nick Saban trusts him enough to run his defense and is basically his number 2 man, I'm fine giving him his first shot as HC. Worked out for Smart.

That sounds pretty good right about now. I think the last 10 win season was 2007. George W. Bush was still President.

Dude, seriously? You need to go back and read my post again. I was responding to someone who said Leach (not Pruitt), has a top defense this year. I asked if the OP thought Leach's defense would be rated that highly if he was playing SEC teams week in and week out. LOL

Sorry, my bad. In that case carry on my friend.

We passed on: Miles, Taggert, Norvell, Campbell, LEACH, Fuente, Morris, Sumlim, Dantonio, Babers, Wilcox etc... So landing a coach with no experience is about as Tennessee as it gets.... Sigh :(

The only one on that list WE passed on was Miles. And he has a better resume than the rest of the list. and just maybe he said no thanks after talking to PF, and finding out the level of control he'd have. Course Miles and PF could have changed mind and he was told to pull over in B'ham and wait up.

FWIW, Steele could have drove to B'ham. Or maybe PF is dropping Tucker off in B'ham on way back from NY to take Pruitt's old job.

Not Pruitt today Phil reaching for a carrot left by Petersen, gundy, or Gruden

Everybody who wouldn't want the next Kirby Smart stand up. It's hard to explain how you'd like our record over Georgia's. Or Washington State's record over Georgia's.

This way of thinking is the problem...

YOU DON'T KNOW IF PRUITT IS THE NEXT KIRBY SMART
