Get Behind JG

You go too far, but I will say this, JG at least didn't stink it up today, even if it was Chattanooga, though he tried on his first throw. Also thought one of his TDs was a tad late but the Chatt DB to slow to take advantage.

I'll take it for what it was, mostly an absence of negatives, and yes to me it's encouraging, but only mildly.

I’m proud of the kid. This was his coming out party and that blastoff that will be the rest of the season.

Let’s Go Vols!!!!
Hope you’re right but he has had a couple good games before, mixed in with several mediocre and bad ones, so there is no reason to expect it to be any different from here on.

He’s going to be the next Crompton come next week in Gainesville
well that is a step up but still dont give much hope. Since you put it that way ,if Crompton is what your comparing him to then I will have to say instead of Fla winning by 30 now they will win by 31. Everybody wants to see him light it up but nobody but you and Ktown has any confidence in him.

If I was going to fault JG for anything it would be his lack of trust in the offensive line. I don’t blame him, but having that confidence in them would go a long way towards him relaxing and taking control rather than waiting for opportunities to present themselves. I’m optimistic about the state of the offensive line in the future, but for the time being they may still be a liability that holds JG back when we’re playing the “big dogs”
Lol, Like he was held back the first two games this year when he had good protection.

That was then this is now. I’m sorry for the optimism but what JG showed me today has me excited for the rest of the season
Don’t want to bust your bubble, but remember Auburn and Kentucky last year, then Vandy and Mizzou.?
Point being, this team under CJP just like JG are so inconsistent looking like they can compete in the SEC one week then getting embarrassed the next so to get hopes up and excited after 1 game is just settling yourself up
For disappointment

Mercy, poor little Chattanooga.......THESE COACHES DON'T HAVE THE STARTING QB READY MUCH LESS A BACKUP....SOME OF THE POOREST COACHING I HAVE EVER SAW....
Be glad we weren't playing a real team on that first pass which would have been an interception....Post all you want next Saturday......Tell me how much JG has it against a real team...

Pruitt deserves more time but JG doesn’t?

Didn't say that. I'm saying that the youngsters will continue to improve and eventually one will take the job from him if he's here long enough. If he makes it through the season healthy and doesn't transfer, someone will take the job from him.

Doubt any of these guys are taking the job from anyone

I will personally admit I was wrong and apologize to everyone if he doesn’t lead us to a win against Florida next week. I think today’s game will be a launching point for him. Our offensive line will have to be able to protect him though. They looked a lot better today

Which account will you be apologizing under, this one or your k-town_king account?

He’s played it well. But given away his hand at this point.

Master troll or 4th grader?
Meh.... I'm just gonna agree to disagree with him.

I absolutely hope he's right so it gives me no satisfaction to argue with him.

Too many quality posters that obviously understand football more than myself on Volnation I enjoy bantering & engaging with than to give him fodder.

Shrout was not very good. I'm going to go back and watch but pretty sure he missed on most of those passes to no one's fault but his own.

Would have liked to have seen Mauer throw a bit more to see what he can do. He sure as hell is fast. We may need to get him more involved.

I like Shrouts anticipation. Hope that his issues were just being amped up to be playing. He's got some tools and a great arm. There's some potential there.

Maurer is something of a wildcard. He's got something about him. He's not afraid. He competes. He's the kind of guy that a team will rally around and follow. Might not have the best arm, but we don't know that right now and certainly didn't get clarification today.

If I had to bet on one to take the job from JG, I'd put my money on Maurer right now.
