Yes, the dismissal of the charges was clearly political. The point was to mollify Trump and continue the narrative of "nothing to see here" in terms of Russian-Trump collusion.

But all it is doing is reminding people, 6 months before the election, that Trump won last time with help from Russia, then paid them off.

Now this is quality entertainment. It's just like watching a surfer with very limited skills and very limited knowledge trying to ride the big one all the way to shore.
