They missed YES! But she looks unsure in everything she does!
She HASNT PLAYED any more than two minutes of a game in a COLLEGIATE GAME EVER. How is she supposed to look? You can say she's been in college three years but that doesn't change the fact she hasn't gone against competition since high school. How can she gain confidence and assurance if she doesn't see the court for more than garbage minutes.

Kamera will see limited action as we move to SEC play good to play her now give her some time on the floor get some experience. She has been a loyal player sitting the bench for two seasons Holly will give her some time in these sure wins.

We lead 46-29 at the half.

Highlights: 1st quarter press lead to turnovers and easy buckets, Zaay Green’s shooting

Issues: missed layups, we’re being outreboundrd 23-18, KK & Harris are tentative shooting and defensively, Meme got a silly technical for slamming the ball after getting a foul.

Something seriously must be done to address the program’s inability to hit layups. The announcer kept harping on it and for good reason. I don’t know if Holly needs to bring in a specialist or what but something has to change. This is more than first game jitters. There is something wrong with the way our ladies are taught to make layups in a game.

I believe Meme is pressing because she sees how talented our freshmen are but she needs to relax, make layups, stop fouling and play within herself.

Let’s grab some boards, make our layups and bring home the win.

P.S. Get well soon Rennia. We could really use your rebounding today.

KK needs to sit, play Green and Collins in the post!
I think that Jasmine will eventually become the starting point as Evina is not locked in on basketball her lapses and her refusal to work on her foul shooting creates an Achilles heel. She should be moved to off guard where she can daydream from time to time. It is not a condemnation of Evina. She is really good and if she was mentally into it no one is better.

I do not agree, the point of these games is to figure out line-ups and what works, what doesn't. If she isn't going to play then, she should play limited minutes now. Need to work the freshman into the lineup with some of the other players so they can get a flow going. Not a fan of these hockey style substitutions. You want to win a championship you have to play in November like you intend to play in March.

Agreed, having a PG that shoots 50% from the line is a HUGE liability. How can you trust her to handle the ball in late game situations when she shoots FTs that poorly? I think she needs to be benched until she can shoot better than 70% from the FT line.

This is crazy, evina is a strong offensive and defensive player, in no way should she be benched. Maybe she should slide to SG, but she should see the floor a lot.

Uhh, Westbrook is 75% from the FT line today. Also 60% from the field despite the missed layups, and our leading scorer, with 5 steals and only 1 TO. Still want to bench her?

Well the freshman saw less than that so what’s your point? My point was the runs were made when she was on the floor. The one thing the freshman did that she didn’t was sprint back on defense when she didn’t do that it put her teammates in a bind on rotations.

So how do I expect her to look? I expect her to look like she is hustling back down the floor on defense especially after a blown assignment!

51.3% from the line a season ago and averaged 8 points. She is playing well today, but I would not call her a great offensive player by any stretch.

You're right, she is 3-4 today, but shot 38% (3-8) in the first game and 51.3% a season ago. Thats not acceptable for your primary ball handler. You can't run your offense in late game situations if you can't trust them to have the ball. In a foul shot situation, up by 2, with 30 seconds to go do you want to ball in her hands? I think not.

The freshman where playing against college competition year round in high school and in aau. She's sprinting back on defense because she's TRAILING. Do you know why she's trailing? because sometimes she's the POINT of the press. Or she's in the back of the press with slow rotating help side and she's going 2 on 1.
