This /\A few brief and uninsightful, forgettable observations;
We are one injury away from becoming a mediocre team.
Kentucky and Alabama games will be the measuring stick by which to assess our progress.
This was a quite short press conference in Missouri.
this is a growing concern of mine tooIt looks to me like players are tending to get the ball to Cooper and stand and watch her operate.
This /\
She is answering the press like she is answering a "why the f are you asking me that?" question,,,not good. Her body english screams "defensive" with those arms locked all the time
You want the press to be your friend in this business...Or thhey will rip you to shreds at first opportunity
this is a growing concern of mine too
I agree some of the gloom and doom was unwarranted because we played a really good floor game. We couldn't shoot a lick and that is what made the game close. We had some unforced turnovers and some really stupid ones. but so did they and we won the turnover battle by 7 had 14 more shots on goal and free throw line was even something that rarely happens with our team. 35 percent overall gave Missouri the chance otherwise I was happy with the way we played.She had the exact same demeanor in the post-game TV interview -- "let's get this over with because I don't want to be here."
This season is her first year in the media spotlight and she does not seem comfortable with it, as of yet.
We have had this conversation before, but I am not loving the whole "THEY were not doing what THEY were supposed to be doing" line. Your the coach, this is your team and if they ain't ready, that is on you.
But I don't believe the players willfully came out and intentionally did not do what they were supposed to do.
Maybe Mizzou took somethings away with their game and the team was slow to adjust;
I would like to see a little more "We" in these pressers and not gloom and dooming a conference win on the road as if it were a loss.
There is some important stuff she can learn from Kim Mulkey on how to balance praise and criticism toward her team in this public forums.
She literally said "we" every time and "they" not once.She had the exact same demeanor in the post-game TV interview -- "let's get this over with because I don't want to be here."

Had her sights turned to take aim at the Huskies. She understands the task at hand.I think coach does just fine in post-game press conferences. Not sure what y'all are looking at. Show me a "happy" coach after a loss (when we lose that is) and I'll show you someone who needs to be fired. She's the same person either way. I like having a coach who is never satisfied. We KNOW this about her already.
She's personable, eloquent, gives honest answers and is genuine.
Did anyone see Coach and the assistants during the game? You can tell (if you have any observational skills and insight into human behavior) they were not pleased with their players on the floor. Probably a reason for that.
Personable is approachable,,,you telling me that until she gets up and disrespects the reporters for their lack of questions to Jillian,,, she looks like she wants to be approached,,,NOPE, no way!I think coach does just fine in post-game press conferences. From my perch I like her perspective and demeanor. Maybe it’s just me, but whether she makes it long term or not, I like her moxy and am rooting for her. The game needs innovators to keep it fresh, she is a breath of fresh air to me. She needs to be able to make the players bend to her will though, let’s watch the second half of the season before we judge, but some of her players are stubborn to be sure.Personable is approachable,,,you telling me that until she gets up and disrespects the reporters for their lack of questions to Jillian,,, she looks like she wants to be approached,,,NOPE, no way!
Why was Jill there anyway she had 7 pts and 6 boards!??
No, Kim is not making a good impression with the media and it WILL bite her in the arse when they get the opportunity,,bank on it!

It's when her frustration affects her play it becomes a problem. She gets obviously frustrated sometimes then makes bad decisions - ill advised shots, silly fouls, etc. Those little walkabouts are the problem, the facial expressions and body language are the symptomsLook at the plays she makes, not her facial expression. That will be a better guide to judging her performance.
I've said before I appreciate her directness and bluntness and think it's part of the Mean Chipmunk persona. Lately since losing a few games, which she's not use to, she seems a little defensive though.She had the exact same demeanor in the post-game TV interview -- "let's get this over with because I don't want to be here."

We have a few girls that aren't athletic enough to do all the things she wants done. Nobody's fault, just the cards she was dealt. I don't mind the press conferences , they don't trigger me as much as it does yourself and coach. I live the constant pressing, but sometimes we over trap/commit and it's truly not necessary. Is that by design or is it just a feel for the players?She had the exact same demeanor in the post-game TV interview -- "let's get this over with because I don't want to be here."

I just hope she has a different gear in the backgound with the team. And I hope it's less accusatory of them and takes some accountability on the staff as well.
Looks a bit similar to last year.It looks to me like players are tending to get the ball to Cooper and stand and watch her operate. She's clearly our most capable scorer and should be the focus of our offense, but not at the expense of the others being uninvolved. We do have other weapons, but they need to stay engaged.
