Have to put it on both as the took the job knowing what she wants to do. Up to him to find players that want to do it. If he can't why did he come here? Better to stay there even in their rebuilding. They had a good classof freshmen coming in.
I would have said are you going to keep hockey subbing and if she said yes then I am staying at Florida St.

I‘m assuming he came because of the talks they had, she sold it to him somehow. We’ll only know by the caliber of players we get in the portal.

I hope she couldn't sell it to him and he came after she said she was not going to hockey sub. I can take all the other the subbing just make me angry and upset.

One thing I am fairly sure of we can't get any players out of the portal that can effectively exist in the hockey subbing.

This makes some sense. Maybe the key to her style is getting players the others pass on that will give 100% effort and total buy-in to the subbing.

This was not the most talented team in a decade, because it had no shooting talent and making shots is the name of the game.

This team couldn’t shoot a lick.

They lost jewel, Tess, Sara, and Samara, and they didn’t replace any of that shooting.

Thats not a defense of KC because roster construction is her job. But the narrative that we wasted a talented team is not factual IMO.

Not just shooting, we didn’t have players that can play one on one defense ( outside of gambling for steals ) we also didn’t have players that can deal with ball pressure, we had post players who couldn’t catch, dribble or shoot. This roster wasn’t very good at all.

His recruiting is somewhat of a red flag as far as I am concerned. Miss St nothing much. Here they all were ranked fairly high, but did not perform on the court. I know Civil looks like a winner and so does Edwards. His portal class was terrible except for Barker and she came in and found a huge dislike for the style of play.
Minus looks like a good one as well. She was a backup to the misses and may turn out to be better than some of the misses. This second class looks better than the first even if two players.

I thought the team had two decent players Barker and Cooper and a couple that would turn out ok Mia and Civil. Everybody else didn't see a lot of talent and some that were fairly decent players regressed under this staff this season.

Evidently players can already take visits even if the portal is not open yet. Barnes has a player in today. We should start hauling them in credentials need to be defense, rebounding, and three point shooting and a like for hockey subbing.

Preach it lol. Free throw shooting alone was abysmal. If you have talent then those should be automatic lol. We barely could hit layups also… that should be easier for talented kids.. I don’t subscribe to the idea that their talent was so mind blowing that they were wasted here.

That’s a fair point. I don’t think Coach Lazo at LSU will do any more with those players than Coach Ferrara will do with the players at Tennessee.
To me, it’s an even deal. Now Coach Caldwell feels she has a person that fits her philosophy and it will help her moving forward as a coach. This guy is a veteran coach. He has a business-like attitude and is highly respected in basketball circles. I believe Tennessee players will respect that especially the ones returning and incoming it’s the right fit. Both programs get who who they needed to serve as assistant coaches.
